I usually put the CA link in the first post I have of the art. I just assumed people would rather see the pics here than have to open a new tab/window.

I have to say this redhawk, but that alternative artwork you posted is pretty bad as well.
The original font for the title is not that great in the first place, but to colour it pink, and attach it to the side of the car...ugh.
The whole layout of the image as well, he looks like a mechanic on his lunch break, it's not dramatic enough.
The way the main character is drawn is quite wishy-washy as well, he's encased in a stark black line, but all it highlights is how bland the drawing style is, his expression does not denote that this is a man of action either, the lunch break mechanic looks bored and is thinking of nothing more interesting than what he should have for his lunch out the vending machine.

and I don't recall what you call that 'fading dot' effect in the background(that some artists used to use in comics a lot), but seeing it used in a deliberate way of going from one extreme to the other, and in that garish shade of red on white, it is something of an eyesore.

You're certainly free to your opinion, and you can certainly argue agains the execution, but I'm fairly sure the style was emulating a lot of the art found in the Grand Theft Auto Games (particularly San Andreas with the linework), which I think it does with a fair amount of success and is why I like it.

Furthermore, its just fan art. I tend to judge that with a fairly looser metric than the materials put out by actual film companies.

It's like the Batman fanart threads (while there is a ton of professional level work there) theres a lot of very good fan art that deserves the praise it gets, and yet if it was ever slapped on a poster and put out by WB themselves it would not be acceptable.


Also, he really is a mechanic on his lunchbreak. lol.

I agree on posting them as opposed to opening up a new tab but for me, I'm usually on ComicsAlliance anyway, so I'm having to wait for my laptop to load up a bunch of pictures I've already seen. Besides that though, I think posting all of the pictures defeats the purpose of the thread unless you really think all of them are special and worth posting. Just my two cents...
