The remake of Don't Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead probably won't be as rad

This whole remake crap has gotten out of control already. It's starting to get annoying.

On the one hand, the constant stream of remake announcements or rumors is ridiculous. On the other hand, at least many of these are not great classics. At least we haven't gotten the announcement yet of Paul W.S. Anderson redoing Star Wars, Brett Ratner redoing The Godfather, or Uwe Boll redoing Gone with the Wind.

I mean does anyone even use Babysitters anymore? I mean I know for kids at a young age. But don't most 14 year olds stay home alone or at a friends house?

I mean the movie is dated and so is the plot. Like i said, no one uses them anymore. It be like someone using a beeper in a movie or a fax machine.

Those remakes are bound to happen...not with said directors, but the remakes wouldn't surprise me if it got announced one day....:o

Hahaha. So true.

I mean if you're gonna remake a movie, why remake one that's so dated. I mean the film is only 19 years, but seems alot older then that. Seeing how things work today.

Like I said they should just make a similar movie without using the babysitter and call it a different name.

I'm guessing since the original was released by WB, they are behind this Gem.

Although this is the remake no one asked for.. it did bring back memories of when Christina Applegate was hot. It's going for 5 dollars at Walmart and I almost picked it up this past weekend.

Well, that's probably why you remake it: to update it, replace those aspects that are out of date. The question then becomes, why not just make make a new movie with a similar (or identical) plot? The answer is usually brand recognition. But is Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead such a recognizable "brand?" I had the same question about The Karate Kid - which could and should just as well be called The Kung Fu Kid, but The Kung Fu Kid apparently doesn't put asses in seats.

I wonder when My Stepmother Is An Alien will get a remake. Or The Burbs or License To Drive or Adventures In Babysitting. Remake them all Hollywood :(

Another f'n remake? :doh::cmad:

It's going to get to the point when they start remaking movies every other year.

Raven is doing the sequel to Adventures in Babysitting:o

Yes she was and still is. I remember buying a VHS copy of this back when Blockbuster still sold them.:o

So will Christina Applegate play the mother?

I want a remake of, Stop!, Or my mom will shoot!, with Vin Diesel in Stallone's role & either that old broad from, Everybody Loves Raymond or Betty White as the Mom. Written by Judd Apatow. Would be epic.

Hey buddy those are classics....well some are.

I was thinking about the constant remakes just the other day, I thought why are they remaking forgotten movies? just by coincidence HBO was showing Don't Tell Mom The Babysitters Dead, while I never saw it way back in 1991 the movie really feels old from the clothes, music, tone.

What's next a remake of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure followed by Wayne's World and Encino Man?

Only reason I watched the original was because of early 90's smoking hot Christina Applegate. Thought the movie was pretty "meh" otherwise.

I just hope they don't try to remake Twins with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Verne Troyer, I mean that would be a silly premise.....right?

Somewhere in Hollywood, a movie producer just read your post and is now on the phone with both of these guys.

I actually just watched this last night on VHS of all things and there are so many outdated things. First of all how would she get the job so easy. they wouldn't even check on her resume to make sure its legit or real and just hire the person the spot?

It was the 80's man.

Actually it came up in the really early 90's. 1991 on the box it said.

Plus they said the S word and B word alot and even the F word once. What was this rated PG-13?

Wow, that's a pretty random movie to remake.
