IGN has confirmed the blonde female is indeed Sherry Birkin.

Much speculation has surrounded the identity of the unnamed mercenary character's companion, a blonde woman. Many people have theorized that the character is Ashley Graham due to the story's involvement of the president, who may or may not be President Graham. However, our sources have confirmed to us that the character is actually Sherry Birkin, daughter of Resident Evil 2's villain, William Birkin.

Sherry?! Wow, didn't expect that.

Which leads me into wondering when Ada will show up?

Sweet! That's what I thought at first, but the voice sounded way too much like Ashley and was disappointed. Hopefully what IGN says is true! Sherry needs closure!

Yea based of the early detail, I'm saying that 3rd character is in fact HUNK. It makes too much sense. He's a fan favorite, potentially immune to the T-Virus, extremely capable of handling his own against BOW's. All of that was seen in the trailer.

His combat style is VERY similar to Albert Wesker. Very Matrixy like movements. He is seen injecting himself throughout the trailer.

Not to mention the one thing that we know about Alex is that he had access to Spencer's research and created the "key to immortality," for him but stole it. We know that the mercenary's blood is the key. Odds are that whatever Alex Wesker created holds the key to curing or at least creating a vaccine for the T-virus. Hunk was never implied to be immune to the T-virus. If anything the implication was that he killed his teammates so he could take their shares of the profit. Considering the way that the Weskers were created and the research that Alex did for Spencer, I'd say Alex Wesker is the safe bet.

Called it!

If they are bringing Sherry back, then I am guessing that Claire will return in some capacity as well. Same with Jill. While they may not be playable, I'm guessing that they'll be around somehow. If Sherry is central than Claire almost MUST have a role in the story.

Also, Capcom, I am begging you....give closure on Rebbecca. These are pretty big outbreaks, so just have Chris or Leon MENTION that Dr. Chambers' team is standing by to provide medical response or something along those lines.

Keep in mind, there is at least one more playable story we have yet to see (Ada). She will probably have a partner (as they seem to be making this where co-op is an option but not a necessity). So something tells me we've only scratched the surface of what's to come. This is shaping up to be the grand daddy of Resident Evils, the one that ties it all together. I can't wait to learn more.

Wow, I'm really pleased thats Sherry. Very, very pleased.

So the time is now ripe for Capcom to scrap this build.:o

MFW Sherry confirmed and possibly Rebecca::awesome: Now just a cutscene showing that Barry retired to some undisclosed woodland location with his family would make my day. Or better yet, have him in the game! He should be getting on in years though.

The trailer was really cool. Nice to see Leon back, & it'll be interesting to see both Chris & Leon meet.

I wonder if this game will have multiplayer like ORC does?

Well it does. It has co-op. Otherwise, different people making the game so it should be completely different in structure to ORC.

Would anyone else like to see Nicholai back? He is basically the one remaining human villain (Code Veronica had a file that confirmed the canonical ending of RE3 is the one where he survives). Perhaps he is in Revelations being as it has to deal with Jill, but if not, I would love to see him show up in 6, just to tie up that loose end.

Though personally, I always thought it was unfortunate that they didn't just put him in Krauser's place in RE4. They were essentially the same character, even looked alike.

I'd like to all loose ends tied up if it makes sense to the story. I mean I don't want to see Barry pop up just for the hell of it. Have it mean something.

I feel like Barry was tied up. His RE3 epilogue indicated he left his family to help take down Umbrella but intended to return to them after. I'd say once Umbrella was taken down, Barry probably retired to a peaceful life with the wife and kids. I feel like he and Rebecca should be mentioned in passing, but nothing more.

Certain characters like Carlos, Billy, Sheeva, I don't even really mind if they are even mentioned in passing. In the grand scheme of things they weren't very important. Hell, the same could even be said about Barry and Rebecca but I think we all have soft spots for them since they were the first side characters.

hmm wow I over looked that guy some how. Ok that that makes it that both him and hunk are a live and will make great villains. dang it Matt, why didn't you mention him earlier? lol Ok I'm gonna wait for Nathan's approval on that.

:funny: Sorry.

To be honest, I don't even really see Hunk as a villain. He is just a mercenary who happened to work for Umbrella. I couldn't see him having much of an agenda of his own once all is said and done. Once Umbrella was destroyed, he probably just took a job somewhere else.

lol tell that to the people that worked for him, umbrella operative: wait for me you still have TO pick me up ,and save me too.

Hunk : Screw you , your on your own. it's all only about me. getting the money and be alive to spend it. and get the benefits and perks of my employer winning.
any guy that does that and leave every behind as it in him also to want things he's just more back ground like in he doesn't announce it to the world doesn't if some gave him power like Albert wesker got he won't take it. well unless he was present to see the bad side effects. then he might hold off. he's still a opportunist.

Same, I see him working only in covert missions for the highest bidder after Umbrella's demise, it fits his MO since that's what he did while employed with Umbrella. He's sorta the "Boba Fett' of Resident Evil :awesome:

Meh an opportunist, is and opportunist. if he's that on missions and leaving others be he's doit in other things as well. and hunks that. he's just a closet type.

Alright, noticed the threads got merged and read up on all the posts. First things first, it's great to see Sherry back and to get some closure on her storyline. Especially after everyone theorized that it was her in the tube and of course it wasn't. :argh: As for the money loving mercenary, I'm going with Alex Wesker too. He doesn't strike me like Hunk at all. Hunk is more strictly business, without ****ing around, and this new guy seems like a tad cocky. Also, since Capcom also has Operation Raccoon City in the works, you'd think that they'd make them sound alike. Hunk in Operation Raccoon City, sounds older and colder there. This new guy sounds way too young.

Nathan what do you think of matt's idea on Nicholai as a villain? or working with Hunk to give the heroes of Res trouble for the foreseeable future?

After finally hooking up and watching the trailer on my PC, that is definitely NOT HUNK. His voice is too young and cocky, and sounds too much like the new DMC Dante. Keith Silverstein voices HUNK and is cold, calculating, and older.

Keith Silverstein has voiced HUNK in RE4, Umbrella Chronicles, Darkside Chronicles and the upcoming Operation Raccoon City.

You can't put any stock in that.

Ill concede that it is more plausible that the unnamed character is Wesker, but its not because its not the same voice actor.

This, and only this makes me believe its Alex:

First, the developers confirmed the third character, a mercenary whose identity is currently unknown. Capcom wouldn't confirm the character's name, but our sources indicate that the character is related to a major Resident Evil character in some manner.

I think that all but confirms it is Alex Wesker.

fine with me hunk's the type to cause them trouble not help save the world. Even if he's being paid as I'm sure what this unknown guy thinks he's getting as well.

but we'll know for sure once they give this guy a name.

Yea i dont think this guy cares about saving the world either. He just wants to get paid.
