The Resident Evil Thread - Part 1

All I know is, despite RE5 being a bad RE game, that I had tons of fun playing through it multiple times with a friend.

Yea i feel the same way, as a RE game, its terrible, there is no argument otherwise, but i did have a lot of fun with the co-op as iv only ever played that game with a friend.

I completely understand some users anti co-op stance, but if they bring back forced co-op, i won't complain about it as i had fun with the last game. With that said though, they need to go back to what made the series the survival horror king and part of that was no co-op

I won't go as far to say I'm against co-op, period, but they would have to implement it better than in RE5. When I played it with a friend, it was fine, because that was how it was designed to be played. But at the times that I did play it by myself, it also very obvious that it was meant to be played co-op. Plus, Sheeva was really damn dumb. She essentially became a glorified ammo box after she proved pointless.

I think Ada Wong and whoever she is working for are the only remaining villains, which is part of Leon's story.
ok I was looking stuff up hunks still alive so they can use him since weskers dead.and it'll make sense since there noway he was doing all that stuff alone plus that corporate that died also.

so there you go "hunk " as wesker replacement and then there' the organization that ada worked for. plenty to still go head with story wise. now good story wise well that remains to be seen.

Yea i can clearly understand that. Outside of just goofing around, iv never really played without a partner. I couldn't imagine playing through the game, normally, without using a human teammate.

There has been no news on RE6 since the trailer was shown behind closed doors at Comic Con this year right?

Was a trailer really shown? Maybe that RE6 promo pic we saw was just a fan manip.
We haven't heard anything else so far.

The end of the world trailer was fake.

Anyway, there are a few voice actors who claim to have roles in Resident Evil 6 and have put it on their credit listings. I'm guessing that RE6 is well into development. That seems to be the trend in video games now-a-days: announce a game when it is six months to a year away from release. I'm guessing we'll get our first look at RE6 at E3 (which is in early June this year) and probably be playing it by March 2013.

I might be wrong but I thought Hunk was involved with what's going on in the 3DS RE game (which I really, really want BTW.)

just as long as they don't kill him off in that . their running out of villains.

yes he was a villain. he worked for umbrella and was in charge of that team your supposed to be seeing in the new "operation Raccoon city" among others he was in charge of the entire operation of wiping out the evidence. He was always in a swat style mask, so that's why you don't remember him much.

My memory may be rusty, but was Hunk a villain?

Hunk is a villain but not in the way Wesker is. Hunk is cold and he's not a GOOD guy (he's pretty bad..) but I don't think he's the "world domination" type. He just puts the mission (and himself..) above absolutely everything else.

If that mission includes getting T/G-Virus samples.. He'll do it. If that mission is "eliminate all survivors in Raccoon City (including Leon and Claire) he'll do it.

I honestly don't remember this Hunk in any game I played, unless he was in the very first one, which I didn't play through all of it.

The first was the only one he wasn't in, lol. He's very much a behind the scenes character... he's been mentioned more than he's been seen. He was one of the Umbrella SWAT guys that took the G/T Virus samples off of Birkin in RE2... and he survived.

He was all through 3.. Even had an Epilogue, also playable in the Mercs part. He was mentioned in Code Veronica, mentioned several times in Weskers Report he was in Umbrella Chronicles 2 as well (I think.)

I actually like these, just do the Mission type characters. You know, just being a real pro. I bet he's also not the type of guy to hold grudges or anything of the sort. He's not going to hold speeches, he doesn't plan world domination, it's just the Mission. And I hope he's going to stay that way.

He likes it, "Nathan" really likes it. hehe. if you've seen the Skippy peanut butter commercials you'd know the joke I'm playing with here.

Ok sweet Hunks the need villain til they capcom comes up with some more new villains for the "res" protagonists to play with. weather it's in the that mysterious group called organization that Ada Wong worked for or other wise.

This looks interesting

Not sure what this NAU OK is or how it was used for this

How would you want co op in that? You think they should alter the story so that Leon and Claire were together the entire time? Or maybe a seperate non-canon mode? Actually I wouldnt mind the latter
In REDSC the part of the story in regards to RE2 were changed mostly and had Leon & Claire together most of the time

Cool. I did not know that. Did it feel faithful to the origianl or did that make the story seem too different?

There are some notable changes, like Annete not being obsessed with "You killed my husband, now pay for it", instead she was quite nice

It's nice to see that not everyone is an obsessed nutso. Sure, she's evil enough to work on a biological weapon, but at least she's reasonable enough to see that her husband was at fault. A change I don't mind.

Here's the walkthrough if you want to watch it Havok. RE2 starts with part 3.
