Zenith, as much as I appreciate you keeping us informed, you don't need to post a lot of that excess. If you post the link, that's great because it gives people the freedom to peruse it at their own discretion. But then also posting the article and an image of the site, it's just excessive and takes up prime forum page real estate, not to mention its a cluttered eyesore. Just tag the link with the page and then it's less work for you, less work for us, and everybody wins :)

so most of that stuff they(capcom) have been putting out in the press that sales were doing fine in north America and others wasn't on the up and up. well we already new they have to reevaluate things.as we talked about in the lounge. may be they can hire cliffy B sin he's in consultant mod for now. As one of the mods suggested.

Well maybe if they had made RE6 good it would have sold better.

It's ether they have help via consultant or they out source like I suggested already. but they need to reevaluate things now the truths out. and spend more time polishing before putting out their games. or they be some where saga is . only their not a publisher like saga is. but their not in a good place.

Also, they've got to treat each game as a stand-alone type thing. Not speaking story-wise, but in terms of the game itself. Don't just assume that the game will sell and be loved simply because it has the Resident Evil name. I kinda think that's what they did with RE6.

Not surprised. Iv purchased every major RE title thats come out and RE6 is the first RE title i didnt purchase. I havent even played it yet.

Guess what? RE 6 sales were dissapointed and Capcom said they fell short of plans.

Man they cant catch a break. Many of their bigger titles from the last year just arent doing as good as expected. I really hope they evaluate the changes they made to the company in the last couple of years and go back to what worked before they started going downhill
Capcom used to have very loyal fans but when you start taking an EA type attitude to these fans, things will turn. I still buy every Street Fighter & Resident Evil title new but wait till they've dropped further in price than I used to. On the other hand I try and give as much money as possible to the series I like where the company making the games behaves well toward its customers.

I used to be a loyal Capcom fan but the last title I bought of theirs was UMvC3. I haven't touched anything of theirs all year

I really like most of their characters' characterization and character designs in RE. Too bad the larger overarching series fiction is really terribad, as well as how the recent games themselves are designed.

Standalone stories with a back-to-basics horror approach could revive my interest, but Capcom (like a heck of a lot of publishers) want Call of Duty type of appeal as a cash cow so bad that it's destroying their brand. AAA game development is not a great place to be in in general anymore, and a lot of developers and publishers in Japan have fled to the handheld systems or microtransaction crappy cell phone games. It's such a bad joke when Square Enix issues a new countdown clock just to announce some crappy browser game on Yahoo.

I'm looking forward to seeing for myself how Remember Me game turns out from Capcom. It's an outside-developed project.

I purchased Operation Raccoon City, which i actually enjoyed more than the little of RE6 that i played(demo). I'll be getting DmC tho for sure.

It's good that no series is invulnerable though. The 2 recent AAA games (MoH Warfighter to a much greater extent) that haven't lived up to some people's expectations (I haven't played them) have suffered in sales. Depressing when something disappoints and still breaks sales records as that is what encourages mediocrity.

the story crossing over was a bad idea it was just fleshed out enough otherwise it would have worked besides alot of people wanted to see chris and leon meet on screen. the issue was the games mechanic's not being polished and the fact the identity of the games was missing there nothing wrong with trying and adding in new things but when you see that what your doing is turning out well it's time to swallow up your pride and ask for help . seriously alot of people should take the approach Kojima did. He's a smart man. fallow his lead dang it. As for them not knowing how to do things any more what they did with revelations proves otherwise the problem is their head of their companies are stubborn. they don't need to head back to basic's per-say but they know what works keep that and add the other stuff. if you don't know how to make the other stuff your adding work well, then ask for freaking help. be it out sourcing or other wise.

I agree. It kinda promotes complacency in the Developers. They stop giving it their all because they know the product will sell regardless.

That's kinda the same mentality marvel has with their book titles or at least some of their writers that think that and are still trying to make name for them selves. they attribute a reader to addicts and use that thought process when the story is lazily done and we'll accept it no matter how poorly done the story is . Game Developers how ever can't afford to do that. that put them out of business for sure.

Especially if you're charging $60 for a sub-par game. That's just gonna piss people off. Nothing makes me angrier when it comes to gaming than paying full price for a game and it turns out to be garbage.

Yea but thats your fault. You are the one that decided to forgo watching videos or reading previews before making your purchase. I have over 90 games in my collection and like them all. Not one of those game i was disappointed with purchasing. Why? Because i did my research on them beforehand.

With RE6 I saw videos and played the demo and like it ok, but once I got it I just hated it.

Hm. Yea see i played the demo and pretty much from the jump was put off by it. Then after reading reviews and listening to others who had played it, i knew i needed to wait.

I actually never got Outbreak, since from what I heard the online connectivity kind of not worked all that well, but I thought it was a really cool idea. With a decent dev team and supported by modern network hardware, I would be all over that.

Outbreak was awesome. It was ahead of its time and I think would have made for a much better title had it been released this gen instead of last

All of you! Click on Resident Evil Outbreak as a definite buy title. I command you! :argh:
An when they ask if Megaman was one of your favorite franchises, vote YES!!!
