Destructoid goes even lower. Giving the game a 3/10. But that guy just seems to be hateful in general.

The guys from Giantbomb don't sound like they like it at all.

Jeff Gerstmann:

Anyway, save your RE6 money for one of next week's games. I played a couple of those and am pretty excited about them!

Shoemaker:

I've still got a ways to go on RE6 (because it NEVER ENDS), but I definitely concur with the low end of the reviews so far.
:/

I agree with Jeff, I'm buying Dishonored and XCOM-Enemy Unknown day one.

Wow, that seems pretty extreme. The demo wasnt impressive but thats just bc I dont like the direction the series has gone. 4.5? Of course I havent played the final product but this seems like a major shock

I think this is a misconception when it comes to the criticism. The problem isn't the direction of the series, but the execution. Apparently it is a bad action game that is more cutscenes and QTEs then actual gameplay.

I guess Capcom will have to go back to the drawing board now.

Even GT's review sounded like they wanted to hark on it more. It deserves these scores, I think. I am not buying this game, and I hope Capcom gets the message and stops trying to make action games with this series, and goes back to what it started out as.

Does anyone really want a modern game like that?

I like RE2 a lot, but the series wasn't anything other then mediocre until RE4, and really it is the only true stand out game.

Progression is where it is at, but what we need is quality progress.

Why? I fully expect this to sell like hotcakes. Didn't RE5? That game is terrible if you don't have someone to play with.

Yeah, it's only if it didn't sell. But I hope Capcom bucks up their ideas next time.

I would love it if someone like Capcom actually saw punishment for their lack of creative vision in sales but lets be honest. People bought Racoon City. :csad:

So, I took the time to actually read the Destructoid Review and can actually see where he's coming from and agree with many of his points. Sure, I haven't played the full game, but a lot of his concerns were already found in the Demo.

Yup. I won't be buying it. Can't rent it either, Blockbusters is practically dead now :(

I only played the Leon demo. It was just "ok". Camera issues (including that it's too zoomed in and your character blocks your view), too many QTEs. I hated what I played of RE5 so I'm not even gone touch the other demo campaigns. On the bright side the co-op AI (if you choose to play single-player) didn't seem as stupid as RE5's. This is just based on my playthrough of Leon's demo campaign. Leon's and what I've seen of Ada's would interest me, but not for the current asking price...for when it's bargain bin time.

I think most RE fans want that, yes. IMHO RE4 is where the series started to decline. It wasn't RE anymore.

Hopefully, it'll be at least what RE: Revelations was - closer to the feeling of the classics - and it got great reviews.

Give me a break lol. The series was at it's best before RE. Sorry RE became huge because of the originals, and have limped on since.

And I love when people say "progress". Changing to another genre does not equate progress. Too many people say that crap.

Agreed!

I don't mind that it evolved into a 3rd person perspective, but that should have been one of the very few changes done to the franchise. Hopefully they'll really consider that RE2 remake and show that they can still do horror.

Give me RESI 2 over every other next gen game after that anyday.

I actually don't want Capcom to remake RE2. They'll totally butcher it.

Well, even if they do, the original will still be there.

The funny thing about Revelations is that Capcom said "Don't expect this style again!" They know the fan base love that style... But they themselves want nothing to do with it.

More or less "we'll make it how we want and you'll buy it and like it."
