The Resident Evil Thread - Part 3

They were fine with the zombies it was just other issues. which have been mentioned enough. so I won't go there.

I stopped listening to gamestop since the kane and lynch incident.

Shane said it best in invisible walls, every negative aspect in RE6 are also found in AAA games like gears and uncharted. The melee in uncharted was poopoo yet reviewers ignored it. And people should stop comparing the game to older RE games and start reviewing it for what it is.

The melee in RE6 while a little over powered is actually fun to use. I had a blast bashing zombie heads on desks.

I do some what agree and the reviews that we both mentioned as "good"did what he said and avoided doing so. The problem is though capcom put them selves in this situation as well, by bating the fans of the series that miss the horror element (yeah those reviewers that did the bad reviews count as fans too, I guess) and they showed this with the 3ds game revelations and that they can do it right in the right conditions the wont have people question them.

So capcom in a way put them selves in this trouble as well. they the fans want horror back on consoles and capcom' holding thing's/ elements that fan's loved from the RE series hostage. that hd both action and horror with haying one over power the other too much. And for them (those bad reviewers) looking at past games is for point of reference. (so they don't have to over explain/ use too many more word then they have to) they just executed it in the wrong way, Comparing them the better reviewers we both just mentioned. But when you think about it to them it's ether that or doing comparisons of other games in the same genre and to some degree that might be come a problem as well too. the issue is this that this a series that's been a round and it should have been more polished it it didn't have the title sequel they b yeah other wise I still agree. but capcom in a way got them selves int to this trouble too.

lol I know I didn't mention that did I? yeah have. I've been playin at a buddie house with it. I'm wait on the pc version. but he has an Xbox. I do too but don't have the game it's self for it.

Most disappointing? Pretty sure the Wii wins that for every game this year

Hmmm seeing that the wii had Xenoblade and the last story both from japan and done well among a few others . some might that's debatable.

Well everything here's debatable, that's why it's called a forum. For instance, I wasn't disappointed by RE 6 at all. I wanted a fun, atmospheric co-op game that wrapped up a series I've enjoyed for years, that's what I got.

Whereas my Wii is still gathering dust, in a year full of more, amazing, triple A titles.

That's true that is what forums are for. but there were some hit's on the Wii. not alot but some. Like Skyward Sword, to name another and their more them making up for that with their next console. but at least we're still on the topic of RE6 it's still playable and fun title. (needs to be refined/polished more) but still all the same it is what it is.

What areas would you say need to be refined? In your opinion, not quoting reviews

hmm I agree on the camera. back it up a little. Lets see what else ? well I would like it when I hit using melee to make contact more, with less of the odd missing. but it's not a major thing for me as I've looking over it since my first run in's with it.

right now I think most of the other campaigns could do with a bit more puzzles. otherwise I think I'm good.

See, I quite like the camera. Because you're closer to the action, it gives you a few blindspots which makes it more intense. I see that as a good trade off for now being able to move and shoot, it allows enemies to get the jump on you, classic horror movie style.

I think the camera is great this time around, I haven't had a single issue with it while playing, but I did in all other RE games

I love how all the middling and negative reviews are written off as, "Oh, they're obviously all biased!" And of course the positive reviews are the only ones that are "fair".

Have you played the game Soapy because that's no less ridiculous than calling this the most disappointing game of the year without actually playing it

It makes me motion sick. It's like I have no peripheral vision. But since they designed it this way, upping the field of view wouldn't necessarily reveal more because all it does is distort the image. Even still, it's poor game design when they waste THAT much screen space with something that obstructs the view of the game world. The way the camera was positioned in the previous games was fine, where the character was more in the centre of the screen until you went to aim and the camera pulled up.

That said, I was never once worried about enemies getting the drop on me anyway coz of my co-op partner. The critics are right to be harsh on this title because it is a poor game. It's fun, sure, and I don't appreciate the hypocrisy when most reviewers praise games in this style but overall it's a far cry from what this series should and could be.

just point out I'm not putting brads review from giant bomb down to that same level of game spot and X-play and the other that said what saidto ether be snarky or were exaggerating their problems. that one he explained why he didn't like it and very well but I do think he let some parts of what he didn't like get the better of him . like the shooting. ( I agree to a certain extent that is important but still) But i agree with the melee needing to have been tightened and that the lack of info in the tutorial is a bad mistake.

And most importantly

I agree with this wholeheartedly that was my issue and that has never happened to me often in any game til now.

What do you mean? Did it conclude the story in any way?

doesn't say any thing world wide sales yet. we'll see what happens. the latter news on opening up ada's campaign to play if from the start is interesting. But I'm not sure people will like the addition of an AI partner capcom just forced into it now.

nice glad to see the game doing so well

wonder who Ada's partner is and wonder if he/she would be canon to the story?

Can I some help real quick?

I'm in the Haos chamber in the last chapter in the Chris campaign. I can get through the first obstacle lifting Chris (I'm Piers)...but then make it to the first obstacle you slide under and then the next few platforms/catwalks and I'm dying......am I doing something wrong too slow?......is there a way to recover from the slide quicker, I seem to be recovering from that slow?

I have to confess that every time I bulldog a zombie with Leon I yell, "OH MAH GAWD!" Jim Ross style.

nevermind :woot:

I just saw Damnation this morning and man that came across more like a game than a movie. It felt like a series of cutscenes and I could have easily have seen that story adapted to a game

Beat the Chris Campaign, gonna start Leon.
