Yeah it was a little off, to have such a big adventure then go to the mansion only to be a side kick. Poor girl.

What I didn't understand was why they all wore different Uniforms or colors in the first game. They were all supposed to be part of the same unit, yet they all dressed differently.

They were different but they did have the same theme. There is a picture in RE2 of every STARS member and they all have the same gear, even Jill is wearing a less blue outfit. Plus in the game it splits the characters apart.

In the book adaptation of the game, I think they say it was her dad's. I know the books aren't canon, but I like them.

Don't do it, TNC!!! I also have only beaten RE4, and I tried to go back to RE2, but the controls and lame camera killed it for me. You might be able to handle the change though. Prepare to die in RE2 alot in the first sequence, cuz you're surrounded by like four zombies, and you would think that hitting left would make Leon or Claire run towards the left side of the screen, but you'd be wrong. I swear, I died like eight times in a row, stupid Capcom. But from reading this thread, I now want to get CV. Is it worth it, or has RE4's camera and shooting mechanic spoiled me?

Im playing Zero and RE4 at the same time. I dont think RE4's camera and shooting ruins things bc Im treating them as 2 seperate series which is easy bc RE4 isnt like any other RE game. I would defiently reccommend RECV. I think it has the best story in the games Ive played so far.

If you cant figure out the controls you're a ******...left makes them go left, there left, right makes them go right, there right, etc...it's not that hard, and I've never died once becasue of the controls...and if you couldnt catch onto them in the first 5 minutes of gameplay, there's something wrong with you, not the controls.

Plus you can change the controls from turning left to moving left; ditto on the right.

well its a valid point bc while alright back in 1998, the controls are clunky and non-fluid compared to today. I had a bit of trouble adjusting to CV a few weeks back when I went to play it but it didnt take long to get used to them. Still puzzled on teh dying so much in the opening sequence though bc it shouldnt be too hard to dodge the zombies and you do start with a gun if you need to knock them to their feet

It's very difficult for a lot of people to control a character using "race car" controls when the camera is fixed, because they'll usually find themselves bumping into walls and such. Fans of the series, like myself, do not have a problem with it since we like the games enough to work around the controls, but if you're a non-fan, they seem pretty bad, and for good reason. RE4 has a camera that follows the player, so the "race car" controls do not seem nearly as frustrating, because you can always see what direction you're about to be moving in.

Well, from the recent responses to my post, I know that for a fact that the only ******* on this thread is the joker. Havok and Tim actually had thought out points, whilst all you could do was insult me, and that's just a little bit pathetic. Did you play RE4 and then tried going back? Oh, you didn't do that? Well then shut the **** up, cuz you don't really know what you're talking about. Majik disagreed with me, but he still had something actually informative to say, and you can't really say that can you?

A little unfair. All RE games prior to RE4 are a little rough but the bottom line is you can learn the games and play them. There is no valid reason why one can not go back to an older game and pick it up again. Jut beacuse the controls are a little harder to handle is not a good reason to miss out on a whole series. I have seen no valid reason why anyone can not go back to a previous game.

Yes this is a valid point but still anyone who considers themselves a gamer that really really wants to play these games can't use that as an excuse not to play.

I actually just beat RE4 3 times, and am now playing REmake as Chris...I very much preffer the controls and camera in REmake
