I dont care if the next trailer is only 30 seconds long, (I know it'll be longer though) even the slightest bit of actual footage from this movie will have me drooling like an alien, I just know it!!!;)

The preview to BB that was attached to SmallVille in 2005 was 7 minutes long! Just needed to clearify that.

Actually, it was 10 minutes long.

Well, 9:55 if you want to be really precise. I have it on my computer still.

Thanks, I thought so that it was longer than 5 minutes.

Somehow I don't believe this.

Especially cuz I've had multiple sources telling me that the IMAX footage is NOT in the movie at all and was filmed specifically for that reason.

We'll see how it goes, none of the info is confirmed. Both sound fine, though. As long as they work, I won't have a problem.

yeah and i'm sure it's supposed to be a nod to the white lenses of the comics

Yes, exactly! I was thinking the other day how Nolan lovingly pays these really subtle little homages. Like the huge afterburner on the Batmobile - do you realize that every live-action Batman since the 60's TV show has had that?

Nice thread here. VERY nice find by iambrucewayne.

Didn't they do the same thing with the eyes at the end of Batman Forever when Kilmer and O'Donnell don the 'sonar suits'?

oh man i thought the same exact thing, LOL. i guess they are gonna have to recycle old ideas some time. not that its a bad thing, i liked the lenses, i actually thought they made him look cool. im also hearing how batman is gonna fire stuff from his gauntlet. sound familiar as well?

Has this been posted yet?

Apparently The Dark Knight is still filming in the Battersea Power Station after last week’s shocking explosion. Here’s an update posted on SpoilerTV:

On the evening of Sunday 21st Oct a couple of dark blue SWAT vans with ‘City of Gotham Police Dept.’ written on the sides were parked on the site, and a dark blue helicopter (didn’t see any insignia) was flying low near the power station. This morning (Monday 22nd Oct) as I passed the area on the train again, the two SWAT vans were still in the same place, but a long white tent had now been erected nearby and there were quite a few cars on the site, so I guess some filming must have taken place at some point during the day as well.

Meanwhile, a German website Kino.de has a very good article about The Dark Knight. The site is in German, after I translate it with Yahoo here’s what I got:
  • Batman will go to Hongkong for some kind of “gangster hunting”, but the producer Chuck Roven won’t tell us why Batman travels to Hongkong.
  • The IMAX preview with I Am Legend is the first five minutes of the film.
  • “The whole thing is not ‘Joker Begins’, because we did not tell how the Joker became what he is”, says director Christopher Nolan. “During these five minutes it is shown how the joker of the small crook becomes the most-dreaded gangster of the city - it is more of a “The Rise of the Joker”
  • Batman’s new mask will have white lenses on the eyes when he turn on the Bat-sonar detection.

SWEEET FANCY MOSES!!!!!!!!

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES YES! YES YES! YES! YES! YES!

I Can die now. :yay:

Awesome news if this is true. And if it is, then it basically confirms that the bank robbery is the opening scene, since that scene is supposed to be "Joker's big reveal" and they filmed parts of the scene using the IMAX camera, right? Unless Jow is right and the scenes filmed in IMAX are for the "prologue" only.

Well maybe they just assumed the IMAX scenes are in the movie. I hope this info is true.

This is incredible. INCREDIBLE. Everything about this movie sounds so damn GOOD!

...wonder if i can buy my tickets to i am legend now...

Ok I`m actually glad its the first five minutes of the ACTUAL movie and not some sorta special rare thing you can only see with I AM LEGEND and then they`ll sneak it in on the special features once the dvd comes out (probly exactly a year from now). I mean I was excited when I heard about a prologue being screened along with I AM LEGEND in IMAX but I was never really happy getting the impression that this is coming off as a `once in a lifetime you can only see` deal....was still planning to see it all along lol.

Wow, something like this???

5 mins of film or 7 mins of random TDK related stuff...either way I'm down...I was already looking forward to seeing I AM LEGEND, this only makes me want to see it more though I'll probably pay less attention to the movie now :)

I really don't believe a word of this report. Sorry.

are you saying the IMAX scenes aren't supposed to be in the movie??? the IMAX footage was always meant to be included in the film.

In making the announcement, Jeff Robinov stated, "Warner Bros. has always been committed to advancing the art of filmmaking. The use of IMAX cameras to film select scenes in an action feature is a great step forward in big-screen entertainment, especially in the talented hands of Christopher Nolan. We can't wait to see the results, and we think audiences will share our excitement when the movie opens on July 18, 2008."
