The Robin OYL Thread

Why do conversations between you always end up so sordid and awkward? :o
Because... Ok, I was gonna say something like "Because you touch yourself", But i'm better than that. The real reason is because I have nothing to actually contribute at any given point. I thought that was obvious.

Oh it is, I just wanted to hear you say it :o

The latest issue of Robin wasn't too bad. I think the highlight of the issue were the nice interaction between Tim and Bruce taking down that supervillain. But I just can't help to embrace the feeling that this new girl in Tim's life has "Kill me Supervillain" written all over her.

How's about "Kill me, doctor" ?

Ouch. Low blow, but deserved by the poor writing of her character.

I enjoyed the issue, but will agree that things are being set up to be too good or complacent, and something is bound to happen that will crush this happy life in the making.

I did like how Batman's fight crashing into the restaruant was an accident, and not an underhandly intentional act, like some that Bats has made before the crisis.

seriously, beechin cant write batman for ****

meh, he's too nice. Batman would never do what he did in a crowded place like that.

i agree. that was more of a superman thing to say. but i can definatley see him asking robin how the date went, especially bale's batman.

You didn't get the memo? Batman is a crazy cool nice guy now. He stopped being a dick after the whole Infinite Crisis Hey Lets Take a Cruise to a far away land with two dark haired young men.

I lost my train of thought.

But why did he ignore Cassandra or make any attempt to look for her during OYL?

I don't know. That's a good question for the editorial team at DC.

That was his characterization exactly during the 70s. And those stories are still in continuity.

Well, I haven't see any evidence that the 70s stories are back into continuity beyond 52, which theorizes that the "path" of Batman's publishing history ( rom pulp crimefighter to badge-wearing hero to dark knight avenger) is similar to the history of Batmn's ten years as Gotham defender. For instance, the comic said that there was a time when the Joker stopped killing, similar to the 60s Batman comics.

However, to say that all of the 70s Batman tales, with Batman letting the Joker handcuff him and bizarre Spider-Man references, are all valid in this continuity is just wrong in my opinion.

Those are storylines/plots that have no relevancy towards the characterization of Batman at the time.

And if anyone tells me Tales of the Demon or Strange Apparitions are out of continuity, I'll bend steel in anger.

At this point, it's hard to exactly determine which stories are in continuity and which stories are not.

Tales of the Demon and Strange Apparations are out of continuity.

Now get to bending that steel, poo face.

Well, coming this Wednesday.
