I thought there was already a thread on this, but i searched and came up empty handed, so if need be merge this with the orig.

The game is a 3rd person action adventure game that has you sneaking through Nazi occupied France just kicking all kinds of Nazi ass. Has a little bit of Hitman/Assassins Creed/Gears of War thrown into the mix. Heres a hands on and trailer from IGN.

Wow, a WWII based game. At least they're trying something new. :o

Seriously though,it looks decent..have to see if it sets itself apart.

Gameplay footage.

The gameplay looks ok, but the animation (like the climbing section for an example) needs more work though.

Yea IGN said the climbing felt and looked a little more "arcadey" compared to something like Assassins Creed, they werent lying.

no hype for this its out in a few days and I just read a good review on ign - Im thinking about getting this over assasins creed 2

Oh, i dont know about that man, id wait for a few more reviews, but i dont think the Saboteur will top Assassins Creed II.

it looks more different to ac and seems to have more charisma from what I have read - the review said he spent literally hours just roaming around and trying stuff before continuing with the story

Well if you are going by the IGN review, then Assassins Creed II is still the way to go. IGN AU gave it a 9 and gave the Saboteur an 8.2. You can spend hours in ACII just wandering around and doing side missions, so its not like Saboteur has that over ACII. Like i said, wait for more reviews, or try and play both, but i have a feeling Ubisofts Assassins Creed II is the higher quality game.

maybe but i was very unimpressed with assasins creed 1 - and this saboteur game seems like something different

Ever since Pandemic went down...this game has been walking the dead man's walk.

Nothing against this game, mind you. But it's an akward position to be in to have a brand new game come out of a developer that no longer is working.

I got Saboteur yesterday... It's fun, no where near as highly developed as AC 2, but it feels like a different game to that altogether, you can't really compare it...

The game it feels most similar to is The Godfather, with perhaps the sabotage elements from Red Faction... Its not bad, but the voice acting is so horrible i've found it hard to get into it.

I heard it was pretty bad voice wise but you kinda get used to it eventually?

Yeah, it becomes more and more bearable...

I'm having more fun with it now... still feels kinda off though... I think its because i've just been spoilt as far as free roam goes... I mean, the climbing is nowhere near as good as uncharted or assassins creed, and the other elements are done better in gta, but i'm still having fun. I'll see how i feel when i'm finished, otherwise, i'll trade it in

Can you change the audio track to French, and have Enligh subtitles?

Sounds like that's be a good way to go, if the voicework is that bad.

Nah, I wish.... The voice work isn't that bad, i just hate it when something small like that gets in the way of me liking a character... Sean, the main guy, basically just sounds like Atlas from Bioshock... I'm pretty sure he even says "Would you kindly" at one stage... It just sounds like such a phony, corny kinda accent, that you can't take him too seriously, and he's meant to be kinda gruff and tough, so it undermines his character... Luckily you forget about it after about the first hour, because you get so distracted just exploring and sabotaging things, and he doesn't seem to talk as much.

It's going to have bare breasts. That kind of sets it apart
I remember seeing a trailer for it that had a stripper dancing around a chair or something. That was weird to see in a game. It looked pretty convincing, too; maybe this'll be one of the few games that avoids the dreaded uncanny valley.

Anyway, nudity aside, I'm looking forward to this game a lot. I hadn't heard about it until recently, but the concept sounds really fun. Sort of like what I wanted Velvet Assassin to be, but according to a lot of reviews, that game wasn't too great. The fact that it's a sandbox game that you can do at your own pace sounds like fun, too.

I want to play this, maybe ill ask for it for Christmas.

It's on my Christmas list.

I know a lot of people rave about ACII...but as much as I enjoyed the early parts of the game, I got bored with the later parts. I honestly felt like I was doing the same mission over and over again...so,I just stopped caring. It was better then the first, which I hated....but I just felt like the game "dropped" off, or lost something near the end...much like I felt about Uncharted 2, good games...they just "lost something", for me anyway.

That being said, I'm looking forward to this game. I'm one of the few people that would rather have another WWII Call of Duty then Modern Warfare 3 or whatever else they have planned. I love the time setting and something about this game just screams "BUY ME!"

Okay, I don't know what it is, but its like a switch in my brain got flicked or something, because all of a sudden i'm really enjoying this game... Nothing really happened to signal the change, I just turned it on and instead of being mildly entertained, I had a ball setting off a high Nazi alert, and then just picking them off one by one with a carbine from a lighthouse lol. Even the accents don't seem to bother me anymore... Btw, theres a cheeky AC reference, with one of the Sports cars being known as 'The Flying Eagle' or the 'Altair'. lol.

^It's that good huh? Some people have been saying it's garbage.

It kinda grows on you... Havent finished it yet, so i'm not entirely sold yet...

Sounds fun, I have it reserved and am looking forward to playing it, I really like the style and aesthetics of the game and from what I've seen it looks like fun!!! I know it probably won't be a AAA title, in fact I think it will be a niche one but it doesn't have to be AAA to be a good fun game and that's exactly what I'm expecting!!!:awesome::up:
