Well that was totally unexpected........so fast bam........

i disagree, jeez people he wasn't that great of a character give me a break.

I didn't say the actors were bad, I said Derek was the best character. And I watched for Derek and, to a lesser extent, John. With Derek dead, that's about 80% of my reason for watching gone. I doubt John can make up for it, but I'll see how it goes in the next episode.

I see it as this, we have Sarah, John, and Cameron..everyone else is secondary or in other words expendable...i might be the only one, but i watch this show for the Terminator story line...the acting and characters have been fine towards that.

I watch every show for good characters, and Derek was by far the most interesting on TSCC. He was a window into future stories, he had a lot of mystery about him, and I generally enjoyed the episodes centered on him more than any others. They were slowly peeling back the layers and showing us what made him tick in the series, and now he's dead.

Can't John send Derrek back in time more than once?

I don't think so. Unless he sent Derek back once and Derek somehow found a way to jump forward again.

i don't think the music for the show is mentioned enough, so underrated.

and since there's time travel involved it might not even be the same Derek. There could be three versions

Jesse's Derek

Derek's future

and as the timeline stands right now Derek. The futures constantly changing.

I'm surprised it took him this long to get capped.

Good episode finally we get a meeting of the minds when John Connor meets John Henry. If Sarah and Cameron somehow able to kill John Henry the question for me is do they ensure the future they've been trying to prevent. As far as Derek coming back its possible cause future John knows what happened. All he has to do is send him back to another time, problem is you can do terrible things to the time/space continuum but its never stopped him before.

Come on guys, derek is dead. No bringing him back.

Sarah ran and somehow didnt get shot? weird.

I'm more surprised in the manner that he died. 10 minutes into the episode, no fight or anything, he just gets his head blow off.

In a weird way I kind of like how Derek was taken out. While not the perfect end (I'd like some slow motion, tears, and dramatic music), it kind of gives us what this show has been missing. The Terminators aren't as scary as they should be and the main characters rip through them like they are nothing.

They should be insanely effective killing machines. Surviving just one attack should leave you at near death (i.e. Sarah and Reese in the first movie). And attacking one head on with a little pistol? Shot in the face. Main character or not.

Interesting, it's almost like Derek and John's "how long would you last against Cameron?" talk was a little bit of foreshadowing.

It was unexpected...a nice surprise for a change instead with huge drama with him going out with a heroic fight or something.

That was a shocker. I had to rewind the DVR to make sure I saw what I thought I did. Even then, I was waiting for some sort of dream scenario to play out. Just quick and sudden and the best character on the show was gone. The moment had tremendous impact and that, I can applaud. Of course, if they had let Jesse hang around for a couple more weeks, somehow ingratiated her into the group and saved that bullet for her, I'd applaud louder.

Good stuff overall. Sarah's capture was surreal and you know that jailbreak is going to be hell. I'm really liking John's maturation. Dekker is doing well at portraying his development. Even the Shirleynator gets a thumbs up.

The season (series) finale looks promising.

Next episode promises to answer a lot of our questions.

I hope it answers the big question that this episode raised: Where ARE Donald's trousers??

BEAUTIFUL and EERIE song/sequence at the end.

Oh, and did anyone crack up at Savannah's crack at Shirley? "You can't sing!"
