The Dark Knight Rises The Score

The theme for the prologue sounds very similar to "Mombasa" on the Inception soundtrack

From Teddy Blass over at Nolan Films...

James Newton Howard gave a concert over the weekend in Dallas. Though unable to attend myself, I did hear back from someone who did. After playing the Harvey Dent suite with the orchestra, James spoke highly of working with Nolan and Zimmer on the Begins and Dark Knight. He also mentioned that it was his decision to bow out of the next film. He stated that Nolan and Zimmer had established such good chemistry working on Inception, and he didn’t want to be a third wheel.

That's understandable, but still saddening. I'm going to miss his musical touch for the Dark Knight Rises score.

Makes perfect sense. It was my main suspicion when he wasn't announced in that press conference.

Aw he doesn't want to be a third wheel... :csad:

Bet Nolan used the old, ''Its not you, its me... we're just too musically different''.

Howard really complimented and even added Zimmer's work. Howard's work was apart of the more emotional points in the first two films. Hopefully Zimmer is up to that task. I don't doubt him though. Since The Last Samurai score is very emotional.

That's why Howard's pieces were my favorite in the BB and TDK scores.

"Time" is also one of my favorite tracks from Inception, and one of the most beautiful tracks I've heard in a while. He's definitely up for the task.

Really hope there's some of 'Mollusus' again.
That's the Batman Anthem forever, nothing can top that.

Who's with me on this?

I don't know about nothing.

Still gives me chills whenever I hear it.

To be honest, JNH really didn't have much to do on the Batman films, certainly not enough for him to display his talent. It's probably best he left this one to Hans.

JNH captured the beating heart and emotional core of the music. How can you say he didn't have enough to do?

Exactly. James did the emotional psyche of Bruce, while Hans covered the insane action antics of Batman and his villains.

I'll go ahead and say it, everything that JNH did in the batman films could have easily be done by Hans.

If anything, the Inception score proved, he really isn't needed. Hans can do emotional and subtle all on his own, and seemingly has a stronger synergy with Nolan. I'm not saying anything JNH hasn't already figured out for himself.

It's not like JNH had the freedom and maneuverability to make a Tarawa type theme or even something as memorable as orange man/visions from unbreakable. Hans and JNH have very strong distinct styles, you make them both work together eventually someone has to take the back seat.

Teddy did a great job with his version. Just makes me want the score for this film even more.

What spots on BB & TDK is Teddy Blass responsible for?

None. This is a fan made recreation of Zimmer's TDKR's score from the Prologue. Teddy Blass co runs the NolanFans site. Dragon should've been a bit more specific. lol

I just came here to see if that got posted. For ****s and giggles I occasionally type in "Dark Knight Rises score" on Youtube and see what comes up.

This made my night.

Duh yah, ya think?! lol

The scores that really do it for me are:

- I'm not a hero

- A Dark Knight

- Aggressive Expansion

- Molussus

And of course the score that plays when the movie ends and fades to black to "The Dark Knight" title! - A Watchful Guardian
