I thought we might as well have a thread for this, since there will surely be piles of discussion about it.

To recap for people behind the ball, the message "See you in December" originally appeared in a fake casting side. Now it's scattered throughout the hidden laughter at the now-defunct ibelievinharveydenttoo.com. Finally, 42 Entertainment (the company behind the viral marketing campaigns for Halo 2 and Year Zero has registered the domain seeyouindecember.com, so obviously they're the one's behind the the Dent/Joker website and whatnot.

So, any speculation on what we might see in December, or if that's even what this means? Since they've already registered the domain, could seeyouindecember.com go up sooner than that? Perhaps they just registered it early to make sure no silly fanboy snatched it out from under their noses after reading the hidden message.

Waiting until December seems like a long gap in between this whole viral marketing thing. This feels like a game, and 7 months is too long to wait in between stages.

This is all happening a lot faster than I think any of us expected. Within only a few days we had the official site with a logo, a second site for Harvey Dent, a third site mocking Harvey Dent with a game unlocking the picture of the Joker, and now this new message. It'd be kinda silly for them to do all that in a week or two then brake to a sudden halt for so long.

I'm not convinced it's a trailer. After all, all rumours indicated we're getting a trailer this summer. hen again, the second trailer for Batman Begins did come out in December.

Could be related to the Long Halloween. Try putting in some domains for months into a whois site to see if anything comes up. Each month or stuff related to the holidays of those stories. Only thing I can think of right now.

Agreed. I'm inclined to believe that A) the seeyouindecember.com site will become active before December, or B) that other sites will go up in the meantime.

I take the see you in december to mean that's when we will see the Joker in a full length trailer. I think we will get a teaser in the next few months, but we won't see the Joker in a trailer till the end of the year.

One thing you have to remember is that wouldn't it be odd for a site called See You in December to not go live until December. You dont tell someone you'll see them in December when it's already December.

December is probably when this whole viral marketing game will conclude, probably with something really big. Until then, site like seeyouindecember will have us seraching for clues unlocking little things. should be tons of fun.

If all of this is genuine, then I cling to the supposition that WB are being genuinely anarchic; that they will shower us with red herrings and spoofs and fakes until some sort of grand unveiling around Christmas time.

I think "See you in December" refers to the first official TRAILER wheareas we will probably get a TEASER in the summer with the playing cards or Alfred's voice over or something but nothing too revealing; like the BB teaser with Christain's voice-over.
I can't see WB making us wait til December for a TEASER!

That's a placeholder site thing. Sometimes you'll even see that page if a site goes down.

This is all so exciting. Great marketing campaign. Making people guess what's real and what's not, playing on or emotions, etc. However, I think the look of the Joker is legit. They wouldn't have took it down if it wasn't.

You're in denial. That is the Joker. They wouldn't have taken it down so quickly, otherwise. The bigger and more unveiling look will probably come in December.
