Inhumans The Serinda Swan is Medusa Thread

She has that aloofness in her face that would've suited either Black Widow or Medusa, but less so for Carol Danvers. For BW, it's consistent with being a spy and maintaining a cool facade. For Medusa, it's that regal air and the way she just carries herself generally with a certain elegance, poise and grace.

I think Noomi Rapace would be superb as Medusa. She can certainly convey toughness and authority.

Isn't Noomi a diminutive actress? I prefer an actress with a much more commanding presence like a Charlize.

What about Kate Winslet for Medusa? She's a good actress, could command authority and is the right age. And if you got Imogen Poots as Crystal, they'd actually look like sisters.

I wonder if Kate would be up for a role like Medusa in a tentpole.

She was in Divergent which was meant to be a tent pole. And she's already been in an absolutely huge movie before.

And for a reunion, how about Leo Di Caprio as Maximus?

I think Noomi can do commanding, she certainly turned that way in the 2nd half of Prometheus. Plus she is good at conveying an under lying strength, which would be perfect for Medusa if you ask me. She is in great shape, and I think her physique and accent would be a good fit for an Inhuman as well. Plus it helps she is a good actress.

My favorite is still Chastain. Too bad we couldn't get in a time machine and grab actors from the past. My pick for Medusa would be Faye Dunaway. BB would be Steve McQueen.

Hey, here's an idea. How about introduce Medusa in an earlier film as a villain, using the amnesia/Frightful Four idea from the comics? Obviously, the exact circumstances would be different because there's no Fantastic Four (and, by extension, no Frightful Four), but it would be a neat tribute and a way to introduce the Inhumans before their movie (in a way beyond what Agents of SHIELD is doing, but also in a way to pay tribute to the comics).

I would be fine with that and would like that. Only problem is that Agents of SHIELD have just gone and done a Sif amnesia episode, so that might steal an amnesiac Medusa's thunder in that department.

She could also actually fight Spider-Man like in the classic comics now that Spidey is in the MCU:

And Spidey also brings with him Sandman, so now we've got half of the classic Frightful Four over at Marvel... and half of them over at Fox. :argh:

I think the difference between Sif and Medusa is everyone knows Sif has amnesia and isn't a bad guy. Medusa starts with a great amount of ambiguity. So I think there's room for both (particularly because we're talking a couple years down the road).

Medusa's hair makes her a good foil for Spider-Man (in a similar way to Doc Ock's arms), but I feel Spider-Man has enough Spider-Man villains to last awhile. On the other hand, I don't think there are any other good movies to stick her in between there and the Inhumans movie so she could make an impact (the trick is not only make the audience think she could be a villain, but make established Marvel characters think that as well). I'm still partial to the idea of Quicksilver replacing the Human Torch's role in the original story, but that's a whole other issue.

Well she could actually be a side "villain" in a Spider-Man movie. Remember how people have often talked about having Spider-Man fight a minor villain at the start like the Shocker before he gets to the main villain? Well here, Spidey could potentially fight Medusa, and then when he defeats her, maybe SHIELD could take her into custody and that's the last we see of her for the film, while Spidey goes on to fight one of his own rogues gallery for the remainder or another MCU villain. Some of the audience might think that this is the end of the matter, but comic fans would know better.

So it would kill two birds with one stone, or even three birds actually: it would allow Spidey to fight someone else at the start; it would introduce another MCU character (making Spidey feel more connected, which is the whole idea); and it would be setting up the Inhumans as well. And it could all be done without seeming too intrusive because, as far as the general audience are concerned, it's just Spidey fighting another villain like he could have been fighting the Shocker or someone else had he still been in his own pocket universe.

Or if not at the start of the movie, then at the end, similar to the battle with the Rhino in ASM2, except that here it would have more meaning.

Julianne Moore?

I would love this :ilv: Or Jessica Chastain. I have seen Emilia Clarke's name a few time but even if I like her, I'm not 100% sure she's the best for Medusa.

I've said it before, but they could get Kate Winslet for Medusa:

Then get Imogen Poots for Crystal:

And they would look believably like sisters.

Has Winslet ever done any adventure/actiony roles? Was she believable?, would be my next question.

She was in Divergent as the villain but I don't recall if she had any fighting scenes. It was a different sort of role to which she normally plays. And of course she was in Titanic.

I think she could do the regal queen part quite well.

Yeah, I think she could handle the role. Her hair does most of the work, so the need to be an action star is unnecessary. It's better for her to be commanding.

Not saying one has to be an action star but you still have to be able to do some convincing physicality. The hair is not going to do everything. And I'm not against Kate as she' s one of the greats in my opinion, I've just never seen her do much more than run around in a sinking ship. Everything else has always been straight acting.

As I said, I don't remember if she had some action scenes in Divergent. She might very well have, but it was a while ago so I can't recall.

EDIT: Apparently she had some stunts but was 5 months pregnant at the time, although she did some reshoots later to film more stunts. What stunts these were I have no idea.
