I just said that. But short hair works on the same principle and saves time, especially if they're trying to get the wig tightly fitted to her scalp. I'm not sure why that's so shocking. A lot of actors in wig or prosthetic-intensive roles wear their natural hair shorter for convenience. Orlando bloom had to cut his hair into a mohawk for the Lord of the Rings movies, for instance.

That's what I'm thinking. There's no reason for her to dye her hair if it's just going to go under a wig. So it's likely that we'll see a short haired Medusa for at least part of the series.

Looks to me like they may be either taking some things from the Jenkin/Lee run of Inhumans or it's short to make it easier to CGI. Or both.

In the comics Medusa's hair can't be cut unless she wills it to be.

it's just that so many people dismiss this show based on only 5 blurry set pics and it's showrunner.. and now use these pictures of medusa with a shaved head as an argument.

people just keep looking for something to moan about even when you can tell that they're not at all invested in the source material.

I literally posted a picture from the comics that mirrors exactly an image of short hair. Assuming she will be filmed with short hair (which we don't know just yet), it very easily could be a reference to something literally from the comic. Have you read the Jenkins/Lee run of Inhumans? I don't get how you can say that someone is afraid of the source material when it looks like something exactly from the source material.

Maybe we should wait at least until we see official images before we assume she's just going to have short hair because Scott Buck is afraid of long hair in his shows or something.

The problem with shorter hair is it could limit Medusa showing off her powers and you know how limited Iron Fist was in the spectacle department. So I am concerned about this too.

This would look better if that was for a film and not TV.

Its too bad, they really wasted the inhumans on Tv. I just don't see how characters like Medusa and Black Bolt would interact with Steve and those other Avengers in a film. Like without the X-Men and the F4, they seemed like the perfect candidate to fill the gap but eh now, they are downgraded to TV with the cheap looking production.

I've seen genuinely bad CG. I don't get the complaints about that hair. The complaints about the wig itself I still understand, but the motion looks fluid and never looks plastic to me.

the hair effect is pretty good and its one of the harder things to animate. this honestly looks better than what they did in the arrivals scene with amy adams.

plus they will keep polishing the effects until release. so i'm not worried about that.
i just hope the acting and writing isnt a complete let down.

Judging from the interviews with Serinda and Anson Mount, Serinda went all on on this role and really worked hard to get Medusa right. And that gives me a a lot of hope. I didn't know who Serinda the was before, but after SDCC I'm confident she'll be a great Medusa.

It looks rubber to me like Ff2005's Mr. Fantastic's vfx.

The visual effects don't look 2017. But a decade older.

I can agree with that
The cg itself isnt all that bad
Its just the wig is THAT terrible that it makes it look bad

Usually? Probably, although it's badly inconsistent? I decided to compile a few images. Top row is Jack Kirby (Medusa's first appearance and two right around "Among us Hide."). The middle picture illustrates part of the problem which is the hair seems to be moving so much in Kirby's work that you can't really tell how long it is. In the next row, I have John Byrne on the left (sort of calf-length hair, but also moving around so it's hard to say). The right is Jae Lee, but I frankly think it's inconsistent within the same issue (the left of the two seems to be knee or ankle length, the right is thigh length and roughly the same as the trailer). The bottom is from Joe Madureira in Inhuman, which isn't just floor length, it's well beyond it (that being said, it always seems to be longer in action than when still). The right is Steve McNiven from Uncanny Inhumans and is exactly floor length.
