Inhumans The Serinda Swan is Medusa Thread

Maybe Rotaru is Crystal. I doubt it.

I doubt it too. She comes across as older than Serinda Swan even though she's the same age. Interestingly enough though, her first name is actually Crystal according to Wikipedia, with her second name being Elysia.

And I guessed as much that she has a Romanian background with a surname like that.

That's why I wonder if she will have shorter hair most of the time but it just grows when she uses her powers. Or maybe she won't get long hair until the final episode.

Maybe it's an origin story, which will allow Blackbolt to speak before he gains his powers (even though I'm pretty sure he had it since he was a baby in the comics) and would allow Medusa to move around without the need for a wig or CGI hair.

Well this isn't a Netflix show so hopefully no.

This is the first bit of Marvel casting news that I'm iffy about since Gwyneth Paltrow (who I despise). Swan always seemed to be a discount Megan Fox (I always preferred Odette Annable to both...I always assumed that those three were competing for the same roles). There's something about her face that seems to be completely fake to me (like, surgically created). I could be 100% wrong about that...just an opinion. I also don't think that she has the commanding presence that a character like this will need on screen.

Well there is the Megan Fox thing going on, plus I said she also reminds me almost of an alternate universe Lindsay Lohan - a version after her early success with Freaky Friday and Mean Girls who didn't spend all her time partying and getting into drugs and then ending up looking like someone in her mid 40s, but someone who continued to develop normally.

I'm not too sure about her casting either or her commanding presence. I'd be okay with her if she were cast in a lesser role like a SHIELD agent or a random Inhuman on AOS, or even as Crystal, but I don't know if she has the gravitas for a role like Medusa. I feel that needs someone a bit older than her too.

This is the problem with Marvel TV productions, they usually get TV actors and I am sure they are better TV actors but they are already occupied for another TV series. Sigourney, Bill Paxton, Samuel Jackson are few exceptions and those weren't regulars.

Yeah. WB and FOX Studios get all the movie stars for its tv shows. Friggin Marvel

I watch Aos and I watch a lot of ABC shows and I swear most of their guest actors were in another ABC show. The female Twin was on Scandal, James O Mara was on Life on Mars, Phil's love interest was on Grey's Anatomy and Blair Underwood appeared in a couple of ABC shows. Skye was also on Nashville. The Robbie Reyes actor was on Wicked City. ABC studios hires the same actors!

If Madeleine Stowe had been younger, she could've made a good Medusa.

I wonder what some of the other Revenge actors are doing now.

Daniel Grayson is now doing Time After Time, then Conrad is now in Quantico and Rebecca/Emily was in a Marvel movie last year.

Anyone think that Medusa will be constantly tempted to have an affair with Maximus? They cast these two actors around the same age, whereas Blackbolt is 44. I can see Maximus attempting to seduce her and undermine Blackbolt's ability to satisfy her or even be emotionally present for her.

Hope not. BB and Medusa are one of the great power couples for a looong time and I'd hate to see Medusa look at Max in any other light but a negative one. Medusa is too dignified for that crap.

But maybe they only become a power couple as they grow and their relationship is tested. Maybe early on, she feels the pull, but then decides that she will not bow to such temptation and sees Maximus for what he is.

I can't imagine they'd start off the series with Blackbolt and Maximus completely at odds. Maybe only by the end of the episode or two-part pilot they're on different sides. But at the start, it would probably be a bit more like Thor and Loki in the first Thor movie where they fight side by side.

Regardless the whole possible love triangle is lame. I think the BB Medusa relationship is one of those love at first sight types and no temptation is big enough.

Well such a bald temptation might be hair today, gone tomorrow.

Now I could see old Max being the creepy brother in law making advances on the sweet little Crystal pissing Medusa off.

I'm sure he'd try it with everyone. He'd be Mad not to. :o

I guess it depends on how young Crystal will be. But since Maximus covets the throne, he likely covets the hand of Medusa as well. Isn't that generally the case in the comics?

Networks rehiring actors that have appeared on various shows isn't unique or new. Lots of networks do it. Actors build relationships with network execs and end up getting rehired on different productions.

CW uses a lot of the same actors. Chris Wood has appeared in four different CW shows.

I remember really liking her on Breakout Kings; she was a badass. Good casting!
