The Shield

Oh yes, Arrested Development, I need to get that because I keep missing it.

Hahaha, I imagine it would be worth it so that I don't have to go through the cliff hanger type endings that leave you with the "Ah crap! I have to wait a week!" feeling.

Damn, I still can't get the image of Dutch
strangling that cat
out of my head. I really hope he doesn't turn, although it would be cool to see. The Shield is the only show that has left these stunning images in my head, the only one to ever do that to me would probably be some of the X-Files.

Yeah, that really surprised me. :(

that creeped the **** out of me. I rewound and turned the commentary on, but they didn't shed any light on it, unfortunately. that was such a dark moment

I think he did it so he could try and see what the guy was trying to get at, by experiencing it himself.

oh, I got that, of course. Just wanted to hear if the creatos had any further insight, but they just teased the actor playing dutch about how he had buffed up some since he was shirtless in the scene

Do you all think that Glenn Close is going to add to the show or is she going to be the beginning of the end?

eh, I can deal with her. not really leaning one way or another, though I know osme people are

The way I hear it, the "big name" cast members (Glenn Close, Anthony Anderson) do a good job, but they don't steal the spotlight like you'd expect them to, so I'm not worried.

This comes from a couple credible sources from theshieldfans.com, a few people over on the forums have seen the first two episodes.

They usually re-run the episode directly after itself. If they continue doing this I would just wait until 10 and watch it all the way through.

I just hope they stick with this tradition...I generally get off at 9 as well on weeknights, although I DO live like, two and a half minutes from my workplace.

I just hate coming in after it's started, is all.

Anthony andersons gonna be on the shield?

I've heard nothing of this, and it's not on his imdb bio

So Anderson is still getting work after raping someone? Hollywood disgusts me.

Either way, I'm still looking forward to The Shield.

those rape charges were dropped. appearently, the women had falsely accused people before

you're prejudging people based on accusations and not facts> you disgust me :p

that being said, I do think rape is a terrible crim,e but I'm also not quick to judge people on it because there are always mitigating circumstances, and most of the cases are just "he said, she said"

Really? They were dropped? Okay, sorry then. Forgive me for being a little ignorant on the subject matter.

As long as Anthony's not a rapist, I have no problem with him. He was hilarious in Malibu's Most Wanted.

Yeah. He's going to play a former gang member who's now a community leader...or something like that. Don't quote me.

Anyway, he's set to appear in all 13 episodes.

All my info comes from theshieldfans.com, so you guys can head on over there and search the forums.

Don't know if any of you guys realized this, but the actor who played Rondell Robinson, who was the strike teams drug dealer on the first season was Walter Jones... The Original Black Ranger from the first season of Power Rangers

Whoa, I had no idea. Good to see he's still getting work or was...

About the Glenn Close issue, from what I've heard she is excellent. The preview I read states she really adds to the dynamic of the cast, and she is going to prove her naysayers wrong.

I really can't wait for Season 4 now! The best show on TV is coming back...

Tuesday, buddy.

As for the Black Ranger...I wouldn't say he's getting work.

He was on a kids show for maybe 4 seasons, then got written out.

He was on The Shield years later and was killed before the end of the first season...

It wasn't always the same black ranger? My childhood memory is slipping. :(

hell no. The power rangers cast changed almost every year. The original Black, Red and Yellow rangers were switched with new cast members after the first year. it gets really complicated after that when people left, as the group was constantly changing and the show got renamed

Was it the Black ranger that got replaced? I remembered that Red and Yellow got replaced, but I couldn't remember if it was Black or Pink that was the third one. I do know that the original Blue ranger stayed around a while...

I think it only got renamed a couple times with the "original" group - the one led by that floaty-headed Zordon fellow. After they got rid of him, it became a rotating show, with unrelated groups of Power Rangers every season. But before that, it was the same group, just rotating cast members in and out.

I remember Mighty Morphin, Ninja (but I don't think they called it Ninja Power Rangers, it was still under MM), Zeo, Turbo...

the first three to be replaced were the black, red and yellow

Well, as you may or may not have heard, the first two episodes of "The Shield" Season 4 were leaked on the internet. My cousin downloaded them, and I got a chance to watch them. Being in the UK, I'm usually behind the US, so it feels great to be able to say I'm ahead of you guys for once. There may be some mild *SPOILERS* here, but nothing earth-shattering.

I have to say that the season gets off to a great start. Michael Chiklis is back on top kick-ass form as Vic, and is partnered up with Ronnie. The two have some great chemistry, and best of all, it means we get more Ronnie! Glenn Close makes a strong addition to the cast, and her interaction with the other characters, particularly Aceveda, is stellar.

Speaking of Aceveda, I wouldn't write him out of the show just yet. Although his reign as captain is coming to an end, they are starting to develop a very interesting story for him. But the character that impressed me most in this new season is Shane Vendrell.

Before, my favourite characters have always been Vic and Dutch, but I have a feeling that this might change in this new season. People complained that they made Shane's character too soft in Season 3. Well, rest assured, he's back to his psychotic best here. but rather than being slightly absurd like in previous seasons, he has now become a genuinely sinister figure. I look forward to seeing how he develops through the season.

there's an article in this weeks Entertainment Weekly about Glenn Close joing the cast if anyone is interested
