I stumbled upon this topic a week before Christmas...and after 'casually' mentioning (i.e. "LOOK AT THIS SITE, HONEY!!!") to my wife where to order this set....lo and behold....Christmas morning came and apparently so did Santa!

I remember watching the first episode - Population: Zero - when it first aired..and I was hooked. I never saw the three pilots...and I am amazed how they still decided to go ahead with a series after struggling through the music of those. James Bond meets Bionic Man..I guess.

The music is a huge part of the success of this series. The only show I can think of at the moment where that is the case.

I was born in 72 so the 6MDM stuff was my first toy line that I was interested in. Loved the show at the time but it doesn't hold up that well in some aspects. Even had a few comics. Recently have purchased other comics for next to nothing.

I bought the pilot DVD off ebay a few years ago.

I had a couple of Christmas's as a kid getting those toys. Still have the stuff in storage. You can still get items in great quality off of ebay.

The next big toy line I got into was of course Star Wars, then GI JOE(80s).

I got my DVD set of 6MDM today, I'm looking at the bonus stuff for right now and its great. All I need now is the Bionic Woman DVD sets and I'll have a complete Bionic collection.

why can you buy season one of the bionc woman at walmart or target but NOT the six million dollar man there's something about that that isn't right i sy that as someone who was a fan of both shows

Seems like I remember there were some legal issues involved with the 6 Million Dollar Man, but I don't remember them exactly.

I bought my Six Million Dollar Man set from Time Life & its just awesome, especially when you open the box & the voice chip starts the show's intro!!

Time Life forgot to put one "Bionic Woman" crossover ep in the set, "The Deadly Missiles"!

did you know dynamite publishing is putting out an adaptation called [for legal reasons]the bionic man?

http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Six-Million-Dollar-Man-Season-1/158946MDM Season 1 finally comes to retails in November.

  • Grievously injured in the crash of an experimental aircraft, Colonel Steve Austin's shattered body is covertly rebuilt via the miracle of modern science known as bionics. Equipped with atomic-powered limbs that make him "better, stronger, faster" than the average mortal, Austin (Lee Majors) can now run at speeds exceeding 60 miles per hour, overturn cars with ease, and spot an encroaching enemy from over a mile away. Under the watchful eye of OSI director Oscar Goldman (Richard Anderson), Steve repays his debt to the taxpayers by taking on perilous missions of a highly classified nature.

Season 1 chronicles Steve Austin's amazing metamorphosis from "a man barely alive" to cyborg to patriotic superspy. Armed with futuristic abilities, Austin is dispatched to do battle with kidnappers, arms smugglers, evil scientists, political assassins, and a diabolical robot-with time enough to spare to counsel a troubled astronaut (William Shatner) and clear his dead father's name. Relive the thrill of Steve's first bionic run in this digitally remastered 6-DVD set featuring 13 uncut episodes; all three made-for-TV movies in their original, unedited versions; and over two hours of never-before-seen bonus materials!
Last November the folks at Time Life released The Six Million Dollar Man - The Complete Series, a 40-DVD set available only directly from their online store. In January they followed up with an individual release of The Six Million Dollar Man - Pilot TV Movies and The Complete Season 1, a 6-disc set with the three pilot telefilms and the 13 regularly weekly episodes of the show's first season, plus extras. Lots of passionate fans jumped on one of these, but many of you have been waiting for a general retail release of the season sets.

Today Universal Studios Home Entertainment announced that The Six Million Dollar Man - Season 1 will be available at a participating store near you starting on November 29th. The six-disc set will have the same episodes (telefilms included) as the corresponding Time Life release, at the same list price of $39.98 SRP (individual retailers are expected to discount it, of course). Specs are the same, of course, with full screen video, English mono sound, and English subtitles.

Universal hasn't provided information about bonus material for their release, other than what's abstractly mentioned in the studio description quoted at the top. But generally speaking, Universal's retail releases are expected to have mostly the same extras as Time Life's versions, with certain notable exceptions (for example, it is believed that all of the extras with Lee Majors interview are Time Life-exclusive, and won't be found on Universal's retail copies). But for the most part you should see the same supplements. Also, the package art will be almost the same. Here's the box image that the studio made available today:

Does anyone know if The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman are going to be rebooted for tv again? If so,then the rumor is true.

the bionic woman rerboot wa s shrt circuited by the writers strike at the time and the reworking went too far afeild for classic fans

They already rebooted The Bionic Woman 4 yrs ago and look what happened. As far as 6MDM goes, they're rebooting it for a comic book series called, "The Bionic Man".

Now I remember, that reboot was awful.I only watched 3 episodes before I stopped watching it.I was hoping they'd give it another try in a few years.I guess I'll stop hoping for one now.

As for the comic book series,I'll check it out.I'll also stop hoping for a Six Million Dollar Man series, too.

I know I asked this before, but I have to ask again, if you had the chance to reboot the 6MDM and the BW, who would you cast? IMO, I'd cast

Jay Jablonski as Steve Austin
Kristen Bell as Jaime Sommers
Miguel Ferrer as Oscar Goldman
Sean Patrick Thomas as Dr. Rudy Wells

No, not Miguel Ferrer again. He was in that 2007 Bionic Woman series, and I want nothing associated with that.

I'm not sure who I'd want for the leads, but I would definitely want a blonde this time round for Jaime and not a brunette like they had with Michelle Ryan. They need a more likeable and better actress than Ryan that's for sure. A new series needs to be not as dark and angry as Ryan's version.

Regarding the original Bionic Woman TV series, Lindsay Wagner seemed hotter in the Six Million Dollar Man, and early on in her own series. As the series progressed, she seemed to morph into Lindsay Wagner, the TV movie queen, whom I find quite boring to watch, and didn't look quite as good. The same phenomenon happened with Jacqueline Smith with her later series of Charlie's Angels. She also morphed into her TV movie queen persona and lost some of that sexiness of the early episodes. It's as if both Wagner and Smith didn't want to appear too sexy anymore.

I want to see some interviews with Majors and Wagner regarding their respective TV series. There don't seem to be any on youtube.

BTW, I'm surprised that Hot Toys hasn't ever decided to make collectible 12" figures of the Bionic Woman and 6MDM. They could be a homage to the 70s dolls, but the likenesses and sculpts would be even better.

Lindsay Wagner was actually quite cute when she was younger:

Her version of Jaime Sommers also had much more of an innocence and vulnerability that made her appealing in a way that Michelle Ryan could never match.

Anyone know if she actually wore this blue jumpsuit in the series that the doll had?
