Arrow The Slade Wilson/Deathstroke Thread!

I don't think Ollie chose Sara. Ivo's gun was pointed at Sara and Ollie jumped in front. If Ivo had pointed the gun at Shado, Sara would've been dead. So it was always a lose/lose situation. Slade probably wouldn't see it that way with his sudden obsession with Shado but that's what it was.

But yeah, I think Slade kills Sara (or he think he does) to spite Oliver after Ivo tells him that Ollie picked Sara to save.

Ollie still needs a lot more training, and I hope that Slade and Ollie will actually spent some time fighting on the island. Would be kind of interesting to see them going at it for months on the island. With Ollie just trying to survive, and Slade hunting him like an animal.

Nah, we needed to see how crazy that doctor was. Total Physco
Yeah, but I wasn't a fan of how they did it. "Kill off the female love interest just to cause the male characters angst and further THEIR characters" is pretty much the cheapest and most clichéd thing that you can possibly do, and I was hoping that they wouldn't go there. "Have the bad guy kill someone off just to show how evviiiil he is" is also cheap and clichéd. It also didn't help that Shado was built up to be this badass, and her death was extremely lame and underwhelming. I still LOVED the episode overall, but if I was asked to point out any flaws, this would be the big one.

Slade's mega Bond villain reveal was awesome, and I loved the way he delivered the lines about tearing Ollie's world apart as it cut to the various people in Ollie's life, it was really well done.

I'm hoping there may be some way that Shado is alive, maybe using some of Slade's blood to save her. I also don't think Sarah is there long enough to see what becomes of Slade and Ollie as she asked him about Slade in the present in a very casual manner and he evaded the question.

I think Sara had a line in one of the episodes (I'm paraphrasing) "Ollie never had much luck picking friends".So I'm guessing she sees Slade's turn against Ollie before she (supposedly) bites the dust.

Still, it's a bit better than having Ollie and Slade fight over the affection of Shado on the island.

To Slade in choosing Sara Ollie chose to save a stranger over a comrade.

The three of them have been through a lot together on the island, forming a bond that should be stronger than Ollie's infatuation with his girlfriends sister. In a way, he knows Shado and Slade better then he knew Sara at the time. And yet he let Shado die.

When I look at it like this, it's not that bad. Also Slades ghost saying "You're not a friend, you're not a brother" kinda implies this. I'm sure there will be more to it as we learn more in the flashbacks.

The Wilson reveal at the end of last night's ep (which I finally just saw!! :awesome:) was just plain cool. I hope he actually dons the Deathstroke mask and armor sometime this season. I loved how Wilson still referred to Ollie as a "friend," it's going to make this extremely personal. Can't wait for Arrow to return

The thing that I found interesting about his present day scene is that he tells Blood "He is my friend", not "He was my friend." He still feels something for the kid he once knew, even if Ollie's actions put them on this road. And when he says he's going to put an arrow through Oliver's eye, I think it's worth noting that he never says anything about killing him. It's almost like he wants the two of them to be equals in this life.

Slade looked just so bloody awesome, in the suit and with the eye patch. I still fail to comprehend how Smallville wasn't able to pull off that simple look.

They cast Michael Hogan which is A+ worthy right there! :argh:

I don't care about what he did before, he sucked ass as Slade. He overacted, looked terrible, and the action scenes were cringe worthy.

Manu Bennett pulls off the eyepatch better than Sam Jackson :o

YEAH I SAID IT MOTHERF***ER, WHAT?!

:hehe:

It was handled pretty much perfectly. And his appearance is spot on. The eye patch, the graying hair, it just looks amazing. I just hope his uniform looks better now that he is off the island. A metal mask would go a long way IMO.

Seeing as Arrow doesn't like to waste time (except with getting GA's name right, and Laurel) I fully expect to see him go full Deathstroke by the end of the season.

I gotta admit, it was pretty weird (not in a bad way of course) in seeing Slade dressed up in a suit after having seen him only wear that military outfit on the island for all this time.lol

I really do hope that when it all boils down to it, that the tragic fate of Slade and Oliver’s friendship doesn’t fall so much on Shado’s death but Slade feeling betrayed by Oliver for other things. Let Shado’s death be the trigger for larger array of issues that Slade will soon have for Oliver.

I'm betting we'll find out that when Slade and Ollie inevitably have their island fight, Ollie ends up somehow trapping Slade under some wreckage or some kind of trap after driving an Arrow into Slade's eye using his hand, ala Identity Crisis. Cue a forest fire or some other oncoming form of immolation, and Slade, knowing what's coming and retaining some humanity, asks (not begs) Ollie to either kill him or save him. And Ollie....turns his back on Slade.

Now if it was me, I'd have that element of friendship still an important part of Slade and Ollie's relationship. Maybe he's going to act like Hunter Zoloman and try and make Ollie a better hero?

Nah.

Though I'm thinking someone on staff probably has the nefarious plan to incorporate two Ollie/Slade smack-downs into an intercut fight scene later in the show.

Absolutely loved the reveal. That said, anyone else here wondering how the heck Slade managed to accumulate the finances to go all business mogul like that?

I'm starting to think Bennett's one of those guys that can make any line sound good. His voice and verbal pronunciation is great.

Ra's al Ghul is a possibility.

Starts with a "K" and ends with an "illing people for money."
