The Sopranos Final Nine

Paulie still proves to be the most hilarious character on the show. Him and that cat, man.

"I moved the picture to the other wall, the thing goes to the other ****in' wall and starts staring at it again." XD

I swear to God I thought the cat was like a reincarnation of Big ***** or something. :o

Explanation...

Tony's dead.

A great quote from Bobby from the first season, I believe, about getting whacked.

"You don't even hear it when it happens."

And that's what happened. No gunshot. No last words. Just black.

Exactly, it would've been just as open ended and far more satisfying. In the end, what did Made in America give the audience?

I guess the satisfaction fo Phil biting the bullet.....Other then that I really wish they kept Blue Comet the Series finale.

I really wish the DVD has the alternate endings....People that worked on the production stated that Melfi was involved in one of the endings. I really wish we get to see them

True enough, we could have been getting Tony's pov on getting shot right then and there as he sees Meadow coming in. But we'll never know, and Chase won't tell.

No, there is no explanation. Tony might be dead. He might not. The fact is, even if Tony died, and the Baccalla quote is the explanation of the ending, the audience deserves better than not seeing it. We deserved a pay off.

I can't wait to read the positive reviews of this tomorrow, you know there will be plenty of people praising this. I want to see how they explain how this was a great ending.

"Unlike other shows of this ilk, The Sopranos finale actually allows the viewer to think, keeping everything open to interpretation. A brilliant move by David Chase, who proves he is a god among us insects." :p

Wow. If I wasn't expecting nothing to happen, I would've been dissapointed. An hour long whack-tease, no payoff, and ALOT of dissapointed fans.

You know what, you gotta give it to Chase. He is a brilliant business man. The way he sold out his art, makes George Lucas look like he is selling paintings on the street. In less than 12 hours there will be all kinds of press coverage on this thing. Chase's phone will be ringing off the hook. He will be getting the biggest offer for a script in Hollywood history. To go back to the old mob cliche...that ending was just business. And that is sad for the legacy of The Sopranos.

Preicsely. You leave it open like that, there can be a future movie, spinoff, whatever. Chase won't be hurting for money, nor will his kids.

"Not personal, this is business."

Could be...

The ending was brilliant, these horrible people get to continue in their horrible lives . . . or maybe they don't, I love it!

I am just happy Phil is dead!

Yep, I guaruntee by the end of the month Chase will have a record setting development deal. It is a brilliant business move, a horrible artistic move.

I hope creators take the David Chase way of making finales. Wouldn't it be awesome if the last Harry Potter books end with "Harry and Voldemort faced each other, knowing only one would survive this duel, Voldemort glanced at Harry's scar."

Haha, I just used a similar analogy over on TV.com. It is so true. How can anyone justify an ending with a complete lack of closure?

^I was wondering why she was still smiling as she saw the gun. I figured she was in on it.

What the **** was with the end? :cmad:

I mean, I get that it probably meant that Tony got whacked, but c'mon! :csad:

It happened in a matter of a second or two. Her reaction was normal because she didn't have time to react until the gun went off and he dropped to the ground. It was a surreal moment for her, and just another brilliant display of the 'reality' of human behavior by the director.
