I'm not a fan of this design for Soundwave but that toy is the protoform right?

I much prefer the design made by Jamie Egerton, that would look awesome on screen!

i gotta agree with knowsbleed when he gripes about Soundwave looking like an insect, but i still like his toy design. if they had gotten rid of those long things on his forearms he wouldn't look so much like an insect. not a fan of him being a jet (yawn) but at least his different modes look cool. his head is definitely the best part of his design. i'm sure it'll be much more intimidating and menacing when we see him fully rendered.

I have dobuts on it, Soundwave is confirmed to be 6 feet taller than Longhaul, and he's freaking huge as it is. So, he's either gonna take a bigger Earth vehicle disguise, or just stay in his Protoform, afterall, Megatron does and that doesn't seem to slow him down.

it has been confirmed that Soundwave is present at Megatron's resting place in order to bring him and back, but it is only one Decepticon who gives his spark for Megatron and that TF is loyal to Megatron in TF lore (not to mention in the trailer when Meg's is waking up only 3 Decepticons are present, when it is also shown that 4 go down there). Who else in TF lore is more loyal to Megatron than Soundwave? This has me seriously worried he is going to die early on and it would piss me off to no end, as it would many others i'm sure.

I think that while that may be legit, I don't think they're using it since Robert Orci said back when it leaked that Soundwave wont be a pick-up truck.

The guy claiming to be a Dreamworks insider later expanded on his first post saying that Soundwave isn't the 'Con to give up his spark to revive Megatron. I think if there's any truth to this, my guess would be that Soundwave and the Constructicons have already the spark of some random grunt before heading down to the Abyss.

And I also share the concern about the size of Soundwave's role despite this guys claims.
