Far From Home The Spider-Man Costume Thread

If you guys like the red and blue, you might be disappointed. If you like red and black, then you will not be disappointed.

They didn't have a signal once they went into space so it made sense to me. When Tony is talking to Pepper his AI says "We are losing her" the connection dropped at that point. We also never heard Friday after that cut out.

Ah, okay, that's interesting. Didn't pick up on no Friday after that, but that definitely makes sense.

I dunno, I sort of hate the idea on-paper of Pete having an A.I. too, but it surprisingly worked really well for me in Homecoming. Gives a nice nod to the internal thought-bubble/self-conversations from the books, and Connelly's never unwelcome in anything.

It definitely shouldn't be a permanent thing though, but at least for some of the NY stuff I could have used a couple lines between the two of them in IW. Just ditch it for the solos from there on, Peter finally cutting the Tony cord.

This may be unpopular, but I find myself wishing the suit had raised webbing. I never understood the complaints about it. I found the webbing on the MCU suit hard to see.

I actually agree with you. It also gives it some dimension.

I like it better raised too. Maybe not as much as the Raimi version but the flat one dimensional look is boring and doesn't make sense with Tony Stark the one who designed it.

Kind of a minor nitpick, but I also hope the new suit has a more pointed belt. SM3 was the last time we got a normal Spider-man belt. Homecoming and TASM 2's are both to rounded.

BatsDC's manip from a while ago. This is the peak of Spider-Man in live action. If they can somehow get Peter to rock this, I'd die a happy man.

I would want something like this with a different spider logo, lower belt and the shade of blue from the CW suit. I'm also hoping they use less CGI this time and if they are gonna use a lot of CGI then they should change the fabric to something with a texture so it doesn't look so flat and fake.

My only gripe with Raimi's was that it was silver and not black. However, it has really grown on me over they years.

I really dont get the complanate about the silver because in the movies it never looked silver and looked blacked. In fact it wasn't un till years later that I even new that it was sliver because it never looked that way in the movies.

It would be interesting if we got a red and black suit, that's for sure.

I would like it. If we get a symbiote spiderman, then at least here a Little bit black :D

Get outta here with that red-and-black nonsense. Psh! :yay: Blue or go home.

That art's still way too "busy" too, man I hate how the MCU does all this weird unnecessary trimming stuff. They go nuts with it on Cap, too.

I actually quite like that. Not as much as the Disney Land suit (which is perfect), but it's still an improvement over the Homecoming suit.

I personally don't like it, but I'm a fan of red and blue over red and black. Never liked the black with the red. Spider-Man will always be red and blue in my head. The 90's series costume is perfection.

I don't know why they do it either. It's not even aesthetically pleasing. In the case of the Homecoming suit, breaking up the red part of the suit with all the black trimming does nothing but disrupt the flow of an otherwise seamless, uniform design. The concept art posted above is a step in the right direction, but they still have the gloves sectioned off for whatever reason. There's not much sense to it from a design POV.

The Disney Land suit is a perfect compromise. There's black trimming separating the red part of the suit from the blue, but the flow of the classic design is left intact.

Yeah. For example, look at that:

So much about that is great. The colors are nice (red could be more vibrant, but it's moreso than on the CW & IW suits at least), the cut and fit looks great. Plenty of classic elements of the comic design. But...

Who the hell when designing these things just comes up with "we've gotta break up the blue chest with this red line pattern around the star and up the sides!"? :loco:

"I really think those leather gloves need some red in between them. Oh, while we're at it, vertical red stripes down the torso are bland, let's make them patterns, in between visible ab-armor."

Just...have the armor underneath the fabric shirt, and have nice striking neat red lines instead. And a blue chest with a white star, the horror!

It sort of feels like designing for the sake of designing, at a certain point. Plenty of that with the Homecoming suit too, which is a shame because the big broad conceptual points of it are so good.
