I decided to stay away from these forums to preserve myself from spoilers, but discussion here is too darn interesting.
I've thought about this and I think that you're right. This is not going to be a faithful adaptation. This Peter is more childlike, more financially secure, less independent and less burdened by his responsibility. He is different, no denying that. But I don't think that this version is inferior. I don't mind at all that Holland's Parker seems to be generally happier person than 616. Good for him. And it looks like from the trailer that he gets reckless with the boat. He is flawed, that can help make character interesting. And there is plenty of time for Holland's Spidey to grow as a hero and as a person.
And I already consider the character to be very likeable, based on Civil War. He is smart and funny dork, who wants to help people. I want to see more of that in July.
