Parachutes and a talking suit..... sigh.
I doubt they get rid of the suit, it gives him a connection to Iron man and thats something Sony will want to keep.
Saying that it might have been marvels idea.
He can keep it in his room as a souvenir. They can have a shot where they zoom on it in the sequel, and that's it. I think we already got enough Peter/Tony connections with CW and HC.
What got me annoyed was the countless Avengers talk in both trailers. I think anyone that sees Iron Man on a poster would know this is a MCU film. I think anyone that watches one trailer would know that this is a MCU film. You can calm down now, Sony.
If Peter vlogged to give his side of the story (for instance with JJJ screaming everytime that the gets the opportunity that "Spidey is a menace!") that I would be down for it.So, how about that vlogging?

Also, I find it pretty insane how people on social media are defending the vlogging (in spite of the numerous stupid issues it needlessly brings) and say it's more in character for Peter than him skateboarding in ASM. Irregardless of your stance on Homecoming & the ill fated ASM franchise, I think we can all agree which is the worse idea

Yea they must really think everyone is stupid. It's like they are saying to us. Look look look! This is mcu spidey! This is different! So that begs the question if they don't want to confuse people then why the hell are u making a venom movie that doesn't connect to this universe? Are they trying to kill off there movie studio?
It's funny cause I blame Marvel more than Sony. The MCU has an habit to force Avengers characters/references even if it takes away from the main characters of the story.

It would be a cheap and easy way to let Spider-man defend himself.
But in the Homecoming movie, it's just dumb from Peter because May or anyone else can find out about his secret idendity. And we just had a movie where Captain America fought so people can keep their secret identity, secret.
It makes Peter look reckless. But I guess it gives Marvel the opportunity to show again Peter being a kid!!![]()
Anyone remember Those Sony emails about how they wanted Peter to listen to EDM & use snapchat because teens were doing it? The vlogging thing reminds me of that.

I'm not suprised. When the MCU is involved, the audience loses its objectivity a little.
'Fans' of Peter are fine with Tony creating his Spidey suit which is still a big let down for me.
Wow. Ok...
Spider-Man is arguably my favorite superhero and I wanted him in the MCU, but I'm not really feeling this version of Spider-Man at all. Really unfortunate bc Marvel's done a great job with the other heroes and I'm only still interested because of Keaton.
The supporting cast is unrecognizable, Spider-Man's tech suit is way too much and they made him a 13 year old boy, obsessed with the Avengers and the vlogging?![]()
I'm glad some of you got the same impression from those trailers as me. I felt a little alienated with all the praise I was seeing elsewhere. Though to be fair I did see some top comments on youtube say about the suit being waaaay too tech based.
It's like....their are things I've seen from this movie that I really like and there are other things that I just facepalm to. How can they get somethings so right and other things so wrong?
I really hope Peter actually breaks away from Stark in this and changes the suit and it looks like the classic suit without the black bands and unnecessary lines.
I think their biggest problem is they tried way too hard to differentiate this Spidey from the previous movies.

So Stan Lee created Peter because he wanted the teenager to be his own hero for once and to be independant. And Homecoming completely erased this by giving him a bff who helps him with his secret and a mentor who gave him a suit.![]()
Of course casual fans are going to praise it. Most of them don't give a hoot about changes, some of them didn't care until he got in the MCU (MCU fanatics) & some hardcore fans are just greatful he's in the MCU at all. Not saying everybody fits Into that box (everybody certainly doesn't) but that's what I've seen on Social Media.
Places like Reddit are kind of a hivemind and if you go against the majority, you'll be downvoted into oblivion, sometimes even have your comment deleted.

We have a 15/16 year old vlogging clueless Stark fanboy who just wants to please his mentor & father figure (oh sorry, BIG BROTHER figure) while swinging around in his Stark tech suit going to a specialized school on his Stark scholarship after fighting against one half of the premier Super Hero team on Earth (who've saved the world multiple times, once in his home city of New York) for no reason other than to impress Stark (Tom's own words) while not knowing what's going on. He has a meme loving obese best pal who's help he needs to figure out his Stark suit while having to deal with a nerdy cyber bully who's physically smaller than himself & some hipster type chick who seems to have a crush on him but picks on him, not to mention his young hip aunt who's more like a sister to him.
I genuinely believe Homecoming will be a good movie. But will it be a Spider-Man movie?
That's the tragedy of it. The original intent of the character is lost. And the sad thing is, it's very relevant to teenagers of today. It would have completely fit with the contemporary theme of the movie. An independent teen Spider-ManSo Stan Lee created Peter because he wanted the teenager to be his own hero for once and to be independant. And Homecoming completely erased this by giving him a bff who helps him with his secret and a mentor who gave him a suit.
On the positive side, the last SMH official posters made me realize how gorgeous were the Raimi ones.
