The Spirit

It's a genuine poster. Frank Miller did it. :o
And I agree with someone who hoped this doesn't go too Millerish. The Spirit is a classic, it shouldn't be tampered with.

That is NOT Denny Colt. I know f all about Denny Colt, but I do know that's not him. What the hell is Miller playing at? Does he wanna make The Spirit? Or Sin City 2? I think when he drew that, he must have been dreaming of Mickey Rourke.

I feel you, Bruce. :woot: It seems Miller has lost himself in Sin City, artistically anyways. But I guess since this is going to be a dark noir film, that's the way to go. But tehre definetly should be some blue in that picture. The title or something.

The Spirit has inspired EVERY SINGLE comic since it was released! It was the first to use the contemporary means of story telling which is now used in EVERY SINGLE comic.
Hmm... should we then expect something new from this film? Something revolutionary, like Matrix? I actually think so. But propably not going to happen.:word:

With Miller at the helm, I think his own stylistic vision will cloud what SHOULD be an amzing film. Still could be alright though.

Merged the separate threads into one main one.

Cool news on Eva

Eva Mendes is not a bad actress, she can be both sexy and fun (see Hitch).
I'm wondering which of the girls she's portraying. Sand Saref?
Characters that have been confirmed so far are Denny Colt, Commissioner Dolan, Ellen Dolan, Plaster of Paris, Silken Floss, Lorelei Rox and Sand Saref.

No, she's a bad actress. Nice eye candy, but def a bad actress.

Agreed, i know nothing of the character but the name "Lorelei Rox" sounds right for her.

She doesn't look like Lorelei though.

So, I was really feeling this movie until they cast Mendes. She is poison to a film and her very presence in Ghostrider made it suck ten times more than it would have without her. She's horribly wooden and stiff as an actress and has the emotive range of a carrot. She's not ugly, by any means, but she sure as hell ain't beautiful, either. Really not digging this casting choice.

LOL, I agree.

Dan Lauria has been cast as the police commisioner. Darn. I love this casting that Miller is producing. You can't go wrong with Gabriel Macht. :ninja:

Eva was terrible because she had a terrible director directing her. She has a lot of talent beside her look, a key part for her character, and the fact that she is being directed by someone who actually cares about the comic is very inspiring. :woot:

The Spirit being a dark movie?I am not sure about this..

What else would you expect? The character has been mostly portrayed as a dark character living in the middle of Central City. :wow:

I think most of you people have not heard about the Spirit before the movie was announced.

Probably. The casting however tended towards actor who did both drama and comedies, so we can hope the humor from the stories will still be there.
I'm getting a "Dick Tracy" vibe and I'm not upset about it.
