Birdbox is more entertaining when you imagine it’s the Predator as the invisible creature or whatever. Still very bad movie though.

Bird Box, I still haven't seen. What I get from it, is it's mediocre. Nothing worse then bland mediocre. Movies like WotW? Ra's explained it best:

Yeah, Bird Box isn't completely terrible but it was the first direct to streaming movie that I remember being actively talked about online for a week or two after it dropped and then it was on to the next fad.

I actually think War of the Worlds was designed for that because when I scrolled to the Prime Video app on my PS5, there was Ice Cube with his vacant expression staring right at me. Amazon had no desire to bury this thing. Any press is good press.

IIRC this was the Blu-ray cover which they definitely tweaked to make it look more like an MCU movie.

Hot take: Kate Mara had the potential to have been an amazing Sue Storm.

What in the MAGA coded, Patriot Act justifying, bad CGI having, Tesla advertising hell did I just watch?!



Next time I watch it, I'll do a drinking game and take a shot of something strong every time Ice Cube says "I GOTCHU!"

Ice Cube's character lectures his son about playing video games and not having a job, but he doesn't even do anything except spy on his own family and lecture them about their life choices. In the real world he would've been fired by the government for being bad at his job.
