The Superhero Cinematic Civil War of Tomorrow Thread - Part 62

Andy Muschietti has been signed for Attack on Titan for years, but I don't know if that is happening after The Flash. I really enjoy his first It movie, but he's not good with special effects-heavy filmmaking.

As someone who has never had any interest in Attack on Titan (sorry, fans) let him do that so he stays the hell away from Batman. Or anything else I care about lol

While his direction is good there, the reason why the first works and the second doesn't, is because he used someone else's script for the first. Which kind of emphasizes the issues with him as a storyteller imo.

Even if they didn't have a female Chameleon in the comics, it's a Spider-Man movie. Mystique doesn't make sense for a Spider-Man movie. It's totally Chameleon

Chapter Two is also based on the worse half of the book. It was an uphill battle from the jump, but it's a needlessly messy adaptation through and through.

While true, I feel that emphasizes the problem. He can recite words, he can't craft them. He also cut out all the cool ****. :weeping:

Because of Bills Skarsgard and Hader, they could never make me hate IT Chapter 2. It's also quite telling that the only scary moments of that movie are when Pennywise is going after kids, which kind of highlights how much of a non-threat he is to adults.

That's the thing, what he does to adults is horrorfying. We see hints of it in the background thoughout part 1 and you expect that to pay off in 2 and it just doesn't. Derry being infected is such a big part of the story and he just completely ignored it. Felt like 6 people and no one else lived there. Which is bizarre because there are two major scenes without them but it all feels disconnected because it never gets tied back.

I'm confused. Aren't the scoopers claiming this shapeshifting villain in BND is Shathra whose being played by Sadie Sink? Granted, I'm not seeing seeing how a multiverse villain would fit into it.

Chameleon would make more sense to me.

Yeah I've seen that as well. While she is from another dimension, I don't consider her a multiverse villain. I haven't read Slott's recent run that featured her, so maybe something was introduced there.

For sure. Also I forgot to put a "the" in front of adults, as in the adult Losers Club. Until the end when he actually succeeds in killing one of them, all he basically does is run after them yelling "BOO!" in a sometimes hilarious fashion. My whole theater erupted in laughter at the giant Windows 98 looking naked witch going after Jessica Chastain. :o

Can Shathra shape shift? I remember legit nothing about that character lol!!!
