The Superhero Cinematic Civil War of Tomorrow Thread - Part 62

Quick question for everyone here…

Since we’ve had so many superhero movies over the past couple decades now and we’ve seen so many versions of these characters on the big screen, who are the new ones you’re excited to see now? And when I say new, I’m talking about characters who haven’t been featured in a live action film yet. Maybe they’ve been in a TV series or appeared in animation. But for me personally (and I think for a lot of us) there is something particularly exciting about seeing the big budget movie versions of these characters. So when it finally happens, it’s pretty amazing (hopefully).

Anyone who has been hanging out in the Superman forums probably knows that for me, the ONLY character I care about (finally) seeing is Brainiac and since we are hopefully getting him, Man of Tomorrow is at the top of my list right now.

What about all of you? I’m not familiar with Mr. Negative at all; is he a character people are hyped over? I imagine a lot of DC fans are hyped to see Lobo too. I’m not a big Lobo guy but I am absolutely a big Momoa as Lobo guy (that might be the most spot on casting in all of superhero cinema).
If the rumors are true and Zatanna might be in Clayface , that would be really awesome to see.

IGN: We're getting our first look at the DCU's Gotham City in Clayface, and there's a ton of those little Easter eggs in the set photos. How canon is some of that stuff? Like there's a mention of Joker, there's a Penguin Man poster. Should we take that background stuff as anything more than just background stuff?

James Gunn:
You really have to take it as something that an art department put together because I never... First of all, there's a couple of things that I don't even think were on the set, like that bat insignia. I think somebody put that there afterwards. But I haven't seen all those things, but they weren't something that came across my desk.

Gunn: “I’m probably not going to do certain movies with characters who (audiences) don’t know; it’s harder to get people in the theater for that kind of thing.”

Gunn's downplaying any wider DC connections to Clayface.

I will note Clayface was a significant part of the latest Zatanna comic series by Jamal Campbell. Whether that was just for synergistic reasons for mainly that one character or anything more than that who can say yet.

Huh.

It’s now occurring to me that it’s been sooooo long since I read an X-Men comic I have no idea what’s been going on with them since like… Age of Apocalypse maybe? Damn.

Ouch Drizzy, dont hit me in front of the children! :csad:
Meanwhile I'm still waiting on my 4K copy because Amazon doesn't have their **** together. Not like I'm in a rush since it's on HBO Max but I really miss being able to walk into a Best Buy and buying a Blu-ray.

Seriously.

It is really crazy that we cannot go to the store and find physical media anymore. What the hell is the world coming to?

At least there's still Wal-Mart and Barnes and Noble but there's a catch to it because there aren't really any Wal-Marts by me and B&N has a more limited selection.

It's so sad, I couldn't even tell you the last time I visited a B&N. I used to frequent the one on Fifth Avenue before it shut down. There was another huge one downtown Brooklyn but that's closed too.

Ugh. :csad:

On the Psylocke front, all I know is that one woman better play her in the MCU:

And be quick about it before Gunn casts her in the DCU as someone we've all never heard of. :sneeze:

Betsy Braddock and Kwannon switch bodies, so the sexy Japanese Psylocke is Kwannon with Betsy's mind. You can see why she was a mute in X-Men Apocalypse.
