I'm all for getting filmmaking back in the US, especially the big cities. LA and NY are built for cinema. But you do it by making it affordable while not screwing over workers.

I dont even know how the tariff on movies would work or how it could be implemented. Nor do I think the administration has any clue either.

With a microwave or a car, it's easy to see that the tariff is paid when it's imported and then ultimately price goes up when I buy one. Movies don't work that way. They're attractions. Where is the tariff applied? Movie theaters are not getting film largely anymore, all that is usually on some type of key or download as far as I am aware. On blu rays? The movie isn't what's being imported though, it's the physical disc. Which is being phased out anyway. How are you charging this tariff? The concept just sounds like a giant mess
