My instinct is that a Transformers thing that isn't for kids is dumb as rocks but, upon further reflection, this would have had me so hyped as a ten year old at the height of my Transformers fandom. Stuff like this "isn't for kids" but it is also absolutely for kids.

Yeah, sure why not? I mean you might as well make it more adult oriented since there's no way in hell anyone under 45 is interested in GI Joes :hehe:

Okay listen I'm under 45 and let me tell you about how Larry Hama's GI Joe comics are an underrated Marvel classic and...

Cannot wait to have Megatron crush people's heads like a grape.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kirkman's Transformers actually ends up being less violent than the Bay version starring Optimus "The Face Collector" Prime.

ROTF is the worst major studio blockbuster release I can think of. Nothing will convince me otherwise.
Never seen it in full. Even while I kind of loved the first when it came out, I didn't feel the need to see the second. One day I was napping on my couch and I woke up to the last twenty mins. Holy Toledo. :funny:

Like, in terms of movies that actually made money? It's a tough call between that and Age of Extinction, which did breach a billion, but that one doesn't feel like as much of a slog and there's a lot in that movie that's genuinely hilarious so it's a more fun watch. The Last Knight is also insanely stupid but that also has a couple of moments in it that you just can't help but laugh at.

I will go to bat for the first Transformers because Spielberg was at least able to rein Bay in a bit before really letting him off the leash for the sequels. Dark of the Moon is also a guilty pleasure of mine.

Does that matter? Is there one you are specifically thinking of?

That was the one where Shia's character had a new love interest that was played by a Victoria's Secret model and Bay introduced her in the most cheesecake way possible?

I can think of a couple blockbuster flops that I'd say are worse than ROTF like Fant4stic, Terminator: Genisys, and Morbius.

Also I just remembered that Norbit exists. That one actually made money but the only edge it has over ROTF is that it's mercifully shorter. I'd also say all those terrible parodies that came out in the late '00s like Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans but those hardly count as movies.

I don't know, those 20 mins and all the racism I've seen from that movie... I'd rather watch those other 3. :funny:

Is Norbit a blockbuster? I know those parodies aren't.

If you watch it on mute it's fine. Like hypothetically if you're on a plane and someone in the row in front of you is watching ROTF. You get to see some cool shots of the Pyramids of Giza before Bay napalms them. :o

Not a massive hit but it made enough that we dodged a bullet by not getting sequels. :o
