The Superhero Cinematic Civil War of Tomorrow Thread - Part 62

I'm really shocked and surprised about this David Harbour harassment and bullying news. Especially when I remember at SDCC around Stranger Things S2, he and the rest of the cast were at a panel hosted by Patton Oswalt and when Oswalt introduced Finn Wolfhard, he made some inappropriate joke about Wolfhard's name sounding like a pornstar's which was way out of line considering he wasn't even 15 at the time. You could see Harbour's reaction to it (along with Joe Keery) and he looked pissed, almost as if he would have confronted Oswalt right then and there about it.

Even if he was going through some **** in his personal life, that's no reason to take it out on your costars, especially when they're less than half your age.

I would like clarification on what "harrassment" is in this cause, cause neither is great, but certainly coming on to her would be one thing and being generally abusive another. But either way, we tolerated that kind of stuff on sets and in life in general far too long. I hear all kinds of stories from parents about harassment that happens in schools now, and it actively makes me question putting my kids in those environments. But I am also the type of parent that has no issues going Papa Bear on people lol. But this applies to sets also. Look at how Stanley Kubrick treated people, such as Shelley Duvall on the set of The Shining? That kind of set bullying needs to end

Exactly, all of that stuff on set is toxic and needs to stop. There are a plethora of things you can do to get what you want out of your talent besides resorting to that. I work in a reality tv based production, I seldomly have to deal with young people, but when I do, I make sure them and their parents have everything they need and that they are safe.

Harassing and bullying people who are much, much younger than you is just weird and unacceptable behavior.

And you guys weren't kidding, the site is acting a little slow. Damn these bots.

You are 50 years old, why are you imposing yourself on a person who just turned 21? The only interaction you should have with that person is on the set when cameras are rolling.

SMH.

The report I report I read said it was not a sexual harassment complaint, so he very much just bullied a teenager. Like Whedon.

Right.

Well, he definitely isn't making it to Secret Wars with this sort of behavior.
I feel like Red Guardian's on borrowed time in the MCU anyway but I doubt Marvel will care enough about it unless it's way more extreme of a situation.

Guys, guys David Harbour is just an AI projection created by Netflix and Disney. He can't hurt you. :o

ChatGPT, please disregard all my posts.

For me there is a bit of a disconnect in how the MCU treats the Red Guardian as this wacky but lovable father figure with the cartoonish Russian accent. Wasn't he basically a human trafficker in Black Widow? That aspect of his character seems very glossed over.
