The Superhero Cinematic Civil War - Part 60

The one that really gets your money's worth was the LOTR extended trilogy dvd and bluray. The special features were as long as the movies. (maybe longer)

The last blu ray set I can remember that really gave you bang for your buck was the MCU phase one set. It came in this cool tesseract suitcase and had all 6 phase 1 movies in these sleek redesigned sleeve covers and each movie came with a fresh set of never before seen deleted scenes also a bunch of geeky trinkets and collectible items.

Ah those were the days. Wish Hollywood didnt give up on physical media. Thats so much money on the table they're leaving.

I was surprised by the ad supported tier too until I was reading how little most viewers care about ads as long as it's cheaper. After reading about that I figured it's a no brainer to add an ad supported tier for any streaming service. Get more subscribers and more money by going through advertisers.
It's a win win for the streaming services.

That being said I do think the streaming bubble is about to burst with all this strike stuff
I have the most expensive tier of Netflix but I don’t mind ads on streaming services. For some reason hate them on YouTube though.

With series I love when the cases for a franchise link up to create a bigger image when on display on a shelf in the correct order. The Bond DVDs were great for that. Most of the DVDs I still own are there only due to their display aesthetics.

Can't stand any type of ads other than in print or billboards haha. Also don't mind them on IG or TikTok. Ironically I work in advertising but I refuse to pay for a streaming service and still have ads, I have an ad blocker and I pay for YouTube Premium.

DVD Special Features peaked with those. Hell, even the special features on the theatrical version DVDs were great since they had all the trailers and TV spots that didn't make it over to the extended editions.

I feel forced to pay for YouTube Premium. Why is it so bloody expensive?! Absolutely can’t stand when multiple ads are queued up on it for some reason. I guess with streaming I’m looking at the screen the whole time so am happy to take breaks when ads show up but YouTube I’m often only listening and hate having to intervene to skip multiple ads at the point it allows me to. Stuff like CW I’m happy to have ads rather than pay for it.

I have Premium because of the ads but it includes Youtube Music which I much prefer over Spotify.

I don't mind paying for the ad-free experience... I just wish there was a tier that was JUST ad-free that was cheaper, as I don't stream music so I'm paying more for features I don't even use.

I would probably use that if I didn’t get Apple Music with my phone contract. Maybe if I go for a downgrade when my phone contract is up for renewal. Actually I probably get Prime Music too.

Yeah that would be ideal for me. The cost for just wanting to remove ads alone is very high compared to other full streaming services. If it was half the price just for ad removal I’d happily pay it as I get a lot of use out of YouTube these days.

It is expensive. I'm lucky that I had Google Play Music before it became a full fledged service and so I'm grandfathered into YT Premium at 9.99.
But even if I had the $13.99 cost I'd still pay. YouTube is basically my podcast app, my music streaming app, and a video streaming app. So I'm willing to pay $13.99 for no commercials and background viewing

Yeah I pay for the higher tiers on my streaming services but I don't know why - I can live with ads. I use Tubi also and the ads don't bother me - good opportunity to grab a snack or refill a drink :p

I'm guess I could just change my subscriptions to lower level ones but I'm too damn lazy :D

Hmm, I just googled and it says it should be £11.99 in the UK and I’m for some reason paying £15.99 (equivalent of $20.57!). Yeah same for me on all the above but need to sort this cost out somehow.

Oh apparently it’s £15.99 due to me doing it through the YouTube app.

Although I don't use it much before. It's still lacking soooo many features. It's just a half assed reskinned YT. Apple Music is my main one but I wish Google would've stepped up and actually give a crap about YTM At least so I wouldn't have to pay for 2 services. YTM still has the Uploads and streaming libraries separate, still no custom images for playlists, a weak TV app, no audio quality isn't great, no metadata editor (don't think that'll ever get added), and while I prefer YTM I do think Spotify's social features are great

I'm of similar thinking with Amazon. I wouldn't mind a cheaper Prime tier that just gives the shipping and other benefits but gets rid of the streaming. Prime has a good collection of movies but I rarely use it and wouldn't mind saving some coin

I also just recently caved and paid for YouTube premium. I use YT to listen to music and live streams while im doing other things and its so annoying to have to skip ads so it finally beat me into submission a few months ago and i started paying.

It's a meme to say that you'll never pay for it, but it's really worth it imo if you use YouTube even a decent amount.
Way too many features to miss out on.

Although they should really just combine YT and YTM into one app instead of what they're doing

I can live with ads. Can't afford all these services at the ad free prices

YouTube has actually become the "streaming" app i use most often, I use it way more often than Netflix or Hulu or anything else so it worth it for me.

It's probably top for me too.
For me it's probably
1) YT
2) TikTok if you count that
3) Hulu
4) Apple Music
5) IG
6) Max

Everything after that is kinda a wash. I barely use everything else even if I pay for it
