I know a bunch of GA people who were really into CBMs up to Endgame and their enthusiasm has reduced every time I’ve spoken to them since. It’s not a Marvel or DC thing with them, just a general lack of interest right now. I don’t even bring them up any more. :csad::waa:

Same, even a couple of years ago they were so excited for even Marvel streaming shows and now they wouldn't even know what is releasing

People who use S&L's live viewership numbers as evidence people don't care about Superman obviously don't know how network TV or the CW works. Those numbers are very good for that netlet, which isn't even AVAILABLE for most people to see. If it were on CBS, those numbers would be automatically quadrupled by default. It remains one of the most-streamed shows on Max. It simply doesn't have the same kind of exposure a Hollywood film does. Interest in Superman is fine. He just needs a good movie that people enjoy, plain and simple.

NGL I rarely hear anyone discuss movies anymore. All the discussion I hear irl are about tv shows. Even very successful movies like Avatar 2 or Guardians 3

The MCU shows are out of date at this point. They don’t seem to be trying to compete with the very best modern shows and are trying to get by using old standards for shows that don’t cut it anymore.

Also doesn't help that their upcoming lineup absolutely blows, and the delays only compound the issue. By the time Echo comes out, a show about everyone's least favorite character in Hawkeye, we'll have been two years removed from when she last appeared. They're trying to bank on Agatha, that character you kind of sorta liked because she had a catchy song three years ago. Two years to finally showcase that side character from Wakanda Forever that you probably forgot was in the movie.

They completely bungled the whole situation top to bottom.

I still don't remember anything that happens in Wakanda Forever after the funeral scene.

Echo is the one to save the MCU show-verse in a similar way to how Flash saved DC. Zaslav, Cruise, King and Gandhi have all seen it 3 times and say it's the best TV show ever.

Secret Invasion has been the clearest sign yet that after this November, I feel as though I will be back to my pre-2008, "all DC all the time" self. Which feels like the way I ought to be, tbh. It's my natural state. There's just nothing else Marvel has for me after The Marvels, and that's fine.

This does not include video games, however. I'll play anything that looks fun, and that Spider-Man 2 game looks like an absolute blast. The first one remains a fave for me! I haven't been gaming much at all this year but I'm feeling the pull again lol.

I just love how spider-mannish it looks. Just so delightfully comic booky. Like Raimi but even more colorful.

Also, some people said Peacemaker is a better show about a secret invasion than Secret Invasion and they're not wrong.

The debut episode of S&L had less viewership than the debut episode of Batwoman on the same network. It's an expensive show with a well known character, even with CW's limited reach the viewership is not bad, but I wouldn't classify it as very good either. Flash was in year 10 and S&L was drawing about only 100,000 more viewers this past season

That's because the show debuted when the CW's live viewership had already dwindled to nothing. Batwoman's premiere was 2 years prior, which is an eternity in TV viewership time. The CW were pushing their app more than anything at that point, because live-viewership was not of interest to their business model, and S&L was their most-streamed premiere ever, AND one of HBO Max's most-streamed shows.

No, they are still absolutely trying to be "prestige television". You don't get those kind of budgets if you are not. But the problem is the creatives. They either do not have a background in television, or they are facing issues forced on them from above, such as time constraints with stars and required story elements. Very few of their shows seem to be able to pace an episode in a good way. And a technical level, I feel She-Hulk is their best show, because, it felt like a show.

The big problems with their shows is that they don't feel like shows. Hence, I rage against "8 hour movie" so may of the showrunners tossed out.

I don't think you fully understand the CW situation. I lost the ability to watch the CW live nearly 6-8 years ago. And I live in a fairly decent urban area. I do think there is a CW station, I just can't watch it for whatever reason with my cable package. Live viewership overall is down, so I am not sure just how much of a judgement you should place on that.

Also a very important thing about this. Batwoman premiered before COVID. COVID caused the surge in a preference for streaming. Superman and Lois had rather decent TV ratings for a CW show at it's time, and has done gangbusters on streaming. Just like my favorite CW show.

Losing America's ass and mouth really hurt it.
