The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread* - Part 61

Ha! That quote is gonna make me like him a smidge.
Off topic, I love the words “smidge” and “smidgen”

It reminds me of Check the Rhyme by Tribe Called Quest.

“Yo Phife do you remember that routine? That we used to make spiffy like Mr Clean?”
“Um, a tidbit. Um, a smidgen. I don’t get the message so you gots to run the pigeon.”

Meanwhile here I am the loner genuinely looking forward to Cap 4 :weeping: lol

Granted I'm not hyped for it like I have been for past MCU movies and I acknowledge it has an uphill battle based on it's production history. But I do hope it will be good.
I am looking forward to things about Cap 4. I am not expecting top tier MCU, but do I want to see the Leader and Harrison Ford as a Red Hulk? Yes I do lol

I'm kind of indifferent towards it but there have been a couple of MCU movies that I was less hyped for, namely some of the more recent ones like Quantumania and Eternals once the reviews came out, though I did end up liking the latter.

You have great style and musical taste for an older Southern gentleman, sir.

Of the post-Endgame and post-Pandemic movies, I've only seen 4 MCU movies in theaters:

-No Way Home: YES
-Multiverse of Madness: NO
-Love and Thunder: NO
-Wakanda Forever: NO
-Quantumania: NO
-GOTG Vol 3: YES
-The Marvels: YES
-Deadpool/Wolverine: YES

It's a bummer, but I'm glad I saved the money on some of them

I'm on the fence about going to Brave New World, but Thunderbolts is definitely day 1, and so will Fantastic 4 as long as the trailers don't make it look like complete dogs**t

DC I haven't seen any in theaters since The Dark Knight lol

For me it's just about keeping the streak going of seeing every MCU movie in theaters and also it's the dead of winter so I might as well go to the movies. I'm at least more enthusiastic about Thunderbolts and especially Fantastic Four.
I don't feel one way or another about Cap or Thunderbolts, but Fantastic Four should be an appointment film. Everything about it so far is nothing but good vibes.

Having AMC Alist helps. :o
I've been dreaming about something like that for years, but there's nothing of the sort implemented for our theater chain. It particularly sucks because the chain is owned by AMC, so it doesn't seem like a stretch to localize a similar program.

I'm still shocked they still allow 3 movies a week post pandemic because every other chain in the US is either once a month or it's unlimited but you still have to pay a surcharge for their premium formats.

Three movies a week is wild. How much do you pay for it?

For me it's $20 a month but for other bigger states like California or New York, it's $25.

Oh wow. If it wasn't for all the other things, my movie-loving ass would be moving there instantly. That's what I pay for 2 movies here, and that's when I can do it for cheap.

Yeah, it's been great although I rarely do triple features anymore, unless it's awards season. So technically for me, it's more like seeing two movies a week. Still a great deal tho.

Haha, a smidge accurately describes the average hype level around here at the moment.

There must be a better word though to describe Blade’s chances of getting made before 2040.

Yeah, sure! I believe you! :o
Since they're not just going to throw the actor under the bus publicly the week of release, I wouldn't expect any different. But the man knows what he meant. It's clear in his words. Screw whatever his name is. I aint watching racist Spider-Man
