It's been pretty slow here lately, which means we'll be chomping at the bit when the show resumes. :)

I hope everyone's having a fantastic holiday season!

Happy and Healthy 2009! to my fellow SHH-SV peeps. (yes, I said "peeps" :D)

Up until the end of season 7 I had seen every episode of this show- on the original air dates. This season- I think I may have seen one. Where can I go to watch the episodes from season 8 that I've missed?

PM me please.

Hey guys, Kaboom, Brainy, etc. Got a 360 for Christmas.
Anyone playing Street Fighter 2 HD to pass the long cold nights before SF IV comes out? ;)
Shouldn't be hard to find on Live, same as my hype username.

Happy New Year all! Also cant believe I just had my 7 year anniversary on the Hype a couple weeks ago.

You can see them on TheCW.com, I believe...

I think they have the whole season up, but you can only do that if you're in the US....

I'm sure there are other places, but I buy the iTunes copies.

Oops...

Looks like they took down the episodes from CWtv.com.

*shrug*

Also, let me point out how much I loathe the "Dark Knight" excuse. What's that, you ask?

Well, apparently, the heads at WB feel that TDK raked in a billion dollars because it was "dark" and "edgy." What they fail to realize, however, is that TDK brought home the bacon because it was really good and respected the source material. It just so happens that the source material is "dark" (He is the "Dark" Knight after all).

A kid-friendly Shazam movie (John August's "Big with Super powers pitch is the most pitch-perfect pitch in the history of pitching, it deserves a Cy Young award) would've been a Harry Potter-like mega franchise for WB (Read Jeff Smith's revamp if you don't believe me) because it would have gotten at least one half of the Dark Knight formula right, it would've been respectful of the source material. And with Peter Segal directing and The Rock as Black Adam (a perfect casting choice), it had the potential to get the other half right too.

Ah well, another opportunity lost. If only it was possible for Marvel Studios to start doing DC movies...

That makes no sense...

*shakes head sadly*

Respecting the source material is key. Why don't they get that?

I think the studio is truly run by idiots.

as each day goes by I'm convinced more and more that WB stumbled into the Nolan Batman franchise purely by accident. What a bunch of freaking dopes. That was the one script I thought was sounding somewhat decent too.

Yep, the ******s at WB think every superhero should be dark like Batman... these morons never learn.

Actually it was Nolan who went to the WB and proposed a Batman reboot. No wonder they have no idea what to do with a gallery of heroes such as the ones from DC Comics.

The Nolan Bat-Franchise... an amazing, wonderful fluke. Sigh. It's tiring to see WB tripping up so constantly.

WB's executives brilliant "thinking" regarding potential superhero movies: you know, is it dark, you know, like Batman..... yes? Excellent! :o

But w/ the success of Ironman you'd think the WB/DC execs would abandoned the dark = good formula. The only rational explanation is that they want their properties to fail. It's like some sort of self-destructive personality on a mega grand scale.

The problem with Warners is that they're trying to get more lightning in a bottle. Unfortunately lightning rarely strikes twice.

the reason batman did so well was because it didnt change from the comic book only tiny bits did.

Curious.

I noticed that TV shows like "Batman the Brave and the Bold" and "Spectacular Spider-Man" are bundled beneath their main character's forums. I wonder why Smallville isn't part of the overall "Superman" forum?

Not that I'm asking to be relocated. Just curious why those animated shows aren't part of the Television forum. IIRC, "The Batman" was here and not under the "Batman" forum proper.

Interesting. I never noticed that before. The only distinction is the animated vs. live action thing, but Anime/Manga is under TV Series...so I'm stumped.

I guess I've never minded it being over here though and a bit more under the radar. Things tend to get a little more "unpleasant" in some of those other forums.

Bringing this over here because it probably belongs here more than the spoiler thread I posted the original in..

Variety has now picked up on the story about TV Guide dumping the CW from their programming grid.

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117998414.html?categoryid=2554&cs=1&query=smallville/

The response from the CW (which is the same thing that crossed my mind):

"It's baffling to us why they want to cover our shows but not tell their readers when we're on," a CW source said."

TV Guide not listing The CW anymore is stupid, if they're going to list MY Network TV on their channel guide. That netlet has less than half the viewers (except for Wrestling) that the CW does...

does anyone even use the TV Guide any more? I mean doesnt everybody just use the program menu on their cable, satellite, Tivo, etc?

More proof that the CW is an A-list network? They wait until half the season is over to put out Season Eight promos!
