Interesting...

You think someone could have looked up Welling's age and got it right. Its not that hard.
Oh, even industry folks don't get all the details right.

Ever read The Hot Button? It's a blog by Dave Poland, a somewhat long-in-the-tooth Hollywood analyst. I've been reading his editorials for YEARS. Out of the blue ... or maybe not so out of the blue considering ... " something" popped up in his blog on Monday. I'm not gonna comment on it; it speaks for itself. Last three paragraphs...

http://www.thehotbutton.com/today/hot.button/2005_thb/051121_mon.html

Ouch.
(PS: Dave, it was '78, not '77.)

The following day (Tuesday), he had a lengthy editorial on film budgets and ROI. It's totally worth the read. And yes, "that" film is brought up again...

http://www.thehotbutton.com/today/hot.button/2005_thb/051122_tue.html

Poland's comments raised an eyebrow, but they may also have been like gasoline sprayed on a fire that's apparently been smoldering under a renewed interest, the revelation of which has me optimistic for the future. :)

<- waiting patiently for tickets to board the next rollercoaster ride. Fingers crossed.

Who, Dave Poland? I guess it depends on if you agree with what he has to say. ;)

I can tell you this - he NAILS the Oscars every year. The guy knows his stuff. To be a good analyst, you have to have a repertoire of knowledge to base your opinions off of, and he's been in the biz long enough to have quite a sizable database of information and experience. His prose style does take a bit of getting used to though LOL.

I'll have to start reading some of his blogs, I've never read anything he said until I read those links of yours.

How often does his reports go up Pat?

Daily, Mon - Fri. Sometimes he misses a day. And he doesn't usually report on holidays (U.S.) or when he goes to film festivals, but he catches up when he returns. I don't read his blogs every day, but I'll click over when I'm bored. Inevitably, he has something to say that is of interest. Pretty amazing considering how long he's been doing this. I'd run out of things to say inside of a week LOL.

Paging Rumposo... Dude, time to empty the PM box. :D

A nice reference site for any SV geek. Not that I personally know of any.. ;)

It's not complete yet, but check out the timeline.

Damn, am I the only person who posts in here?
*shrug*

Here's something funny I read on another board. If you google "hot guys," the first thing that comes up is a picture of TW.
Had to share. :)

If you Yahoo "hot guys" and images, you don't get pictures of Tom Welling.

I tried it. :D There were some interesting photos is all I'll say... ;) Very INTERESTING photos.

The board has been a little slow lately.

To say the least. Plus its that time of year when we all get a little busy.

I'm off to Santa Barbara this weekend to celebrate my 20th anniversary. Before you ask, I was a young bride.;)

Congrats Avid Reader! I just had my 16th we haven't done anything yet though. 20 is quite a milestone.

Last November was my four year. My wife got pregnant a month after we got married, so we wasted no time.:O

we sort of made a decision not to have kids too early, we wanted to enjoy each other's company and be able to do things for a while..maybe sometime soon though (probably just jinxed myself there...) :)

hee hee...

Well I thought the other way around, I'm still young enough to enjoy my husband's company, and my kids are getting older, and I'm a little more comfortable financially than I was when I was younger.

Both ways work. :)

It always freaks me out when I go home and see people I grew up with that have kids. Its like their lives have taken a total turn, right up to the point that they get a babysitter and head out.

P.S. why has traffic around these here parts been so slow lately. I know we're in some off weeks but geez.
