ha, no.. it'll go like this

"we are honored to have christopher nolan, christian bale and the dark knight rises film crew in our city."

then the film crew will say

"we are grateful that Pittsburgh is allowing us to film in this wonderful city"

Pretty much.

I could care less if we get any news at all out of the conference, I'm just excited to hear Nolan and Bale comment on the movie.

Same here. I'm excited to see Bale and Nolan together in one room and see how they talk about TDKR. Even if they just mutter a few sentences. :awesome::hrt:

I'd like to see Nolan give his reasoning for moving from Chicago to Pittsburgh. I know it's not a huge deal or anything, but I'd like to know his idea behind the switch.

He'll probably just say that he wanted to show different parts of Gotham. Which I'm sure was the reason. Because I believe his "other" film MOS is starting filming in Chicago around this time, maybe it had something to do with it.

Oh, okay, I didn't know MOS was filming in Chicago. That could definitely be why. Your right, he probably just wants to show new parts and get a different feel for Gotham.

Considering The Narrows have been "lost" since 2005, I hope they return to that one "location" :o

Which makes me hopeful that after 2 movies, Nolan will finally include lots of Gothic architecture.

I'm hoping so, too. Apparantly Chicago has a lot of Gothic architecture, but there aren't any scenes that I can remember him showing in the previous films that displayed this.

Remember how Bane drew Azbats attention in Knightsend?

The plan for Wednesday, Aug. 10, includes "full snow effects" with fake snowfall and limited access Downtown on that day in particular.
Ooo... We haven't seen Nolan's Batman in winter (other than Bruce in the Himalayas). I love the visual effect of Batman standing in the midst of a snow storm. It's always worked in the comics, I bet it'll look beautiful on film.

Is that for advertising purposes or for a scene?
How cool is this. The Batsignal appeared tonight, not in the sky, but on the side of Downtown's Highmark building to welcome Warner Bros. and the cast and crew of "The Dark Knight Rises."

Local tech companies partnered with Highmark to project the iconic image on the Fifth Avenue building. It can be seen as you exit the Fort Pitt Tunnel and a handful of onlookers were spotted about 9:30 p.m. taking photos from the sidewalk across from the old state office building.
Quote taken from there.

Knowing there will be snow in the movie in combination with catwoman + problaby a ball scene i fear that TDKR will show too much resemblence with BR.

The scene in TDK where batman rides with he's batpod too the joker in the street really
had some resemblence with burtons street scene in B89.

Who cares?

Yeah, it should be a shame if Nolan had to compromise with his vision just because someone did something similar once. He is not copying BR believe me.

I love BR by the way.

No wont really copy it i didnt say that.

But be honest,if there is so much resemblence will it look like an original take on a batfilm?

But in the same time,Nolan is a great director and knows how to make a film look good, with the story on number 1.

When plot points for The Dark Knight were leaking I was worried it was to similar to Batman 89. But when it came out...it wasn't. I remember some people complaining about it being an '89 rip off. Those complaints didn't last long though.

It wouldn't be a crime to take some ideas that really worked from B89 and BR, and plant them into DKR, as long as they're improved upon.

Steven Spielberg could've been called a copycat for making yet another dinosaur movie with all the typical chase scenes, but why is it that Jurassic Park is the only dino movie anyone would think of at any mention of that genre? Only because Spielberg did it better.

Well said. There is a key difference between the standoff scenes in B89 and TDK. In B89, Batman uses targeted missiles against the Joker and misses, yet the Joker pulls out a 5 foot pistol and takes out the Batwing with one shot. I've always hated that little exchange. It's an insult to Batman's competence and also an insult to the audience's intelligence. They jumped the shark on that one for the sake of melodrama. In TDK, the Joker stands his ground but doesn't use a weapon against the Batpod. Batman's own conscience is what ultimately wipes him out as he decides to not hit the Joker.
