Days of Future Past The TEASER TRAILER Discussion Thread

Ok, the filming is coming to and end, and we are already on December, so... the teaser is coming, guys!

In the short wait, I create this thread to post what can we expect from the teaser, and what would we like.

Let the countdown begin! :woot:

Yeah I think I remember reading the Hellfire Club is both a Casino and Strip club.

Dat thread manager!

TRAILER

But hey, at least that dead senator slept with a chick that looks like Madonna! So he can't be all that bad right?

Has Marilyn Monroe been downgraded to the level of Madonna?

What next?

Why is the dead senator meeting a young Morgan Freeman?

Joking how?
I guess you came here with nothing interesting to say and just decided to jump on my post for the sake of it? Because it's quite obvious I wasn't joking.
Now, pay close attention to the images before saying silly things like "Magneto is holding a remote" when is clear, painfully clear that he's holding a gun.

No. I jumped on your post because like so many fanboys/girls who have a tendency to let their imaginations run wild over NOTHING (aka that stupid "six" vs. "ten" debate during TDK years, that ridiculous "I can see Venom in Spideys eye" or even "I can see Galactus Helmet!")

I just wanted to point out that you were, you know...WRONG.

FIRST of all, like I said in my previous post, in that particular scene Xavier simply turns his head to look at Moira McTaggert. NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS about it. Watch it over 100 times if you like, its the same thing. Turns his head left and cut to next scene.

What do you do? Take a particular frame of that scene and go "ooh...he's using his telepathic ability and reading someone's mind!!!"

...um, no. He turned his head.

As far as Magneto. You can claim its a gun as much as you like, we wont know until June. Whatever it is, its small and its black and its in his hand. So as much as you like to claim to say it is. Whatever I disagree.

The Xavier observation however, that's as black and white as you can get.

..That "interesting" enough for you?

Xavier is simply turning his head.

Magneto has a gun in his hand.

Those are facts. No ifs ands or buts about them. ;)

The only reason I can't concede it being a gun is that when I first saw that scene in the trailer, "GUN" did not pop into my head. I honestly, thought it was the remote.

Granted, as pointed out by a previous posters, tv remotes did exist in the 60s.

Plus, for my part, I can't fathom why Magneto would randomly be holding a gun...in the living room...while they're all watching television.

But i'm not gonna drag this out so i'll leave it at this:

We'll see. :cwink:

However, the whole idea about Xavier using his powers in that scene though...that was ridiculous and was the primary reason I felt compelled to say something to begin with.

It's not about you being able to "fathom why" or not. You don't know the context of the scene.

Yeah, I understand that. Thanks.

Like I said, we'll see come June.

He could just be using it to illustrate his power over bullets or something.

Loved the trailer. Did it's job for me!

Same here. I thought it was great and didn't give out too much too soon.

I have mixed feelings. We'll see how it'll turn out.

I wonder if JFK will be in the movie himself. Both the second and third movie had presidents as characters.

I never saw the comic in my life, but this trailer was wonderful!

Given the bad buzz surrounding this movie that was a solid (albeit not spectacular) trailer. The film seems to be quite low key compared to its competition, and that may not be a bad thing.

I've been staying out of this forum because, well, if you don't have anything nice to say...

Anyway, now I have something nice to say. That trailer looked pretty darn good. For a casual fan who doesn't read the comics, it looks like it should hold up with X-Men 1 and 2. I didn't know anything about the plot, and am pleasantly surprised to find it centers around the Cuban missile crisis (one of my favorite events of post-WWII history). I still have one or two reservations, but I'm finally in a position to be excited about this.

I have mixed feelings about it. I kinda dig the period setting, but at the same time, it´s a little confusing. It clearly advertises itself as a prequel to the Singer movies, but how could Emma Frost look the same age as in XMOW? Shouldn´t Cyke be much older in the other movies as well?

How dare you ! Madonna is much more intelligent, more in control than that mentally challenged woman !

I love this shot. Its hilarious in a good way.

Fassbender's expression. :funny:

ultimatefan,

I think it's clear, although they won't say it, that First Class is completely ignoring Wolverine and to some extent, the Last Stand.
