Federer swearing loudly after errors now. Seems like every game has been tooth and nail. Federer is battling.

Oh crap, Monfils rolled his ankle

Monfils actually challenged when he was going down and won the challenge. He holds for 2-0.

So, it will be the first Grand Slam final without Federer, Djokovic or Nadal since the 2005 Australian Open. That's incredible in itself, and you wonder whether this final may come to be seen as the start of a new era.

I like it, it's refreshing. And both Nishikori and Cilic played some solid tennis to get to the final. They desserve their spot for sure. I'll be happy no matter who wins, unlike the women's side, where i just cant stand Serena so it's not entertaining to see her win :whatever:

I hate this men's final on a monday though, cause i'm at work until 7:00pm, so it means i cant watch unless they go loooong to 5 sets :cmad:

Yeah, what is the thinking with holding the men's on a Monday?

I have nothing but respect for Serena, but there is no interest to be had in watching her out muscle yet another opponent. It's a slight indictment of the women's game that, with a few blips, she has been able to be so dominant for so long.

I've no idea, but i hate it. Allowing them to have one day rest, maybe?

The women's game annoys me at times. Things are only interesting when Serena isnt playing, although i'll admit, the grandslams this year on the women's side have been diverse. The men have given us a different winner for each one also, now that i think about it:
- Australian Open: Wawrinka and Na Li
- French Open: Nadal and Sharapova
- Wimbledon: Djokovic and Kvitova
- Us Open: Cilic or Nishikori and Serena

Eh? Serena didn't win Wimbledon this year.

Ooopsie my bad, edited :woot:.

Looks like Cilic is going to win his first big tournament in a few! Unless Nishikori pulls a comeback, looks like i wont even make it home to watch :(

Yeah, it feels like we have had a lot of mismatches lately, particularly in the women's game.

Congrats to Cilic on his first major win :woot:

Monfils was so ****ing epic today in his match against Fed for Davis Cup that I'm watching it again. Yes, Roger wasn't at 100% but that doesn't take away from La Monf's great shotmaking.

Can't wait for Stan vs Monf.

wow, congrats to Federer and rest of the Swiss team for winning the Davis Cup.Its been a while since Federer has been this emotional

Dude deserves it. Congrats to Swiss.

This thread needs a bump!

I'm getting that feeling that it's Muzza's year in Australia, the guys playing well gaining plenty of break points even if he isn'ttaking all of them. You'd always back him against Berdych even after the dude bageled Nadal.

I was surprised that Nadal got manhandled by Berdych, considering Nadal usually feast on him. But watching the match, Berdych was on fire from the start especially hitting that flat forehand.

Murray is playing well, but if the final involves either Djokovic or Wawrinka, then sorry he isn't winning it. Djokovic or Wawrinka will beat him.
