The more characters that are already in the game, the longer it takes to add another one. Development time grows exponentially the more characters are added, not linearly. They have to program each character to interact with every existing character and repeat that process every time they introduce someone.

Plus games with huge rosters often end up being a balancing nightmare.
 
I don't mind the idea of gear. I actually think it's interesting. I just hope it's simply a gameplay element and doesn't factor into the story. I don't want to start chapter 1 as Superman and then at chapter 8 be Superman covered in armor. I also hope (just like in a lot of RPGs) they have both an equipment and appearance tab. Allowing us to equip any kind of gear we want, but at the same time giving us control over the characters' appearance regardless of the gear we have equipped. Basically having the stats of the armor, but with the costume looking like the "classic/original" version.

I like this idea. I would love if you could just forgo having the ugly ass armor all together.

I agree with you!! Especially with all the talk of armor and power ups, Jaime just seems like a natural fit. Plus he seems to be a highly requested character and has grown in popularity since the last game came out (he has a lot more fans now!)
 
I really hope Black Canary is in this time around. Maybe Captain Atom.
 
I think Firestorm would be a good inclusion.
 
Like I previously said, I loved the Injustice costumes because they looked weird and overdesigned. I probably wouldn't enjoy watching Cavill's Superman in a Kryptonian mech-suit... but here? In a fighting game made by NetherRealm Studios? **** yeah.

I just hope it's not detrimental to the gameplay.
 
I wonder if you will wear the armor all throughout the match ( with maybe even battle damage that causes the armor to break off as the match progresses ).

or, if you equip the armor during the match by pressing a "power up" button.
 
Just to share some things I've noticed/read:

You can see Captain Cold's gun, along with all of his information/stats in the blueprint-ish intro in the beginning. (This is also where you can read Batman's blueprint thing in the trailer, that lists Brother Eye and "Wayne Luthor Industries")

An article I read stated something along the lines of "Players can play with the largest DC roster in a fighting game...", so that means either more than 24 (Injustice's base roster), or more than 30 (DLC included). Either way, great news.

The director has been teasing Captain Cold for awhile.
 
Not sure how I feel about this "gear system". If I have to wear a bunch of gaudy armor to compete with someone, that's lame. Or if I happen to wear a bunch of armor and my opponent doesn't, that's also lame and vice versa.

I agree on armor to compete as lame but I don't see one person wearing armor and another not as a lame thigs at all. I won't be wearing armor at all if I can have a standard/comic look.

What if you can't compete with someone wearing armor and you get thrashed every match. You'll think that's lame REALLY quick.

Yes to both. Last month I read the 80's run of Captain Atom, and I found a new appreciation for the character.

Also, I think Black Canary was cut from the last game, and cut character Atrocitus is already in. It's really her turn to be in.

I don't play fighting games like MK online and so I can probably find ways to handle the cpu but yeah I guess you're right
 
The armor gimmick isnt something i find myself looking forward to, im already not big on fighting games but I'll get this because i enjoyed the first. Hope they bring back MMH.
