xmangambit, I agree with you about the opening. Unfortunately, cool animated openings have become a bit of a lost art these days. More and more shows are cutting down on the openings, shortening them, or just ditching them entirely for just cold opens or cold opens and a quick logo opening for a few seconds.

I wish they attempted just a brand new opening with the old theme. I mean even the Power Rangers Samurai show brought back a new amped up version of the MMPR theme. Its not the same, similar, but different.

But don't feel bad, even the new TMNT and MOTU shows when they came on had different openings and themes as well ;) .

maybe they will have an opening. they just didn't put it on the first episodes. they probably have some stuff in there that is spoilerish, so they will wait till they pass it up in the actual story. or wait till the team is formed before the intro is shown. but yeah look at what young justice did, that is a crap opening.

The show is going to have an opening but the producers already said it would be short and not as long as the original.

Preview pics (large) for tomorrow: chefs, pirates and... Yuggoths? (the hell?!)

That's the standard these days which is good and bad. Instead of devoting say 30 seconds to commercials and an extra 30 to the actual show it's just more advertisements to ply viewers with. On the plus side it means watching them on DVD goes that much faster.

The negative portrayals of the Thunderians and the few positive portrayals of Reptilians almost makes me feel like the Cats as a society deserved their downfall.

The Thundarians largely condone slavery, especially to reptilians and they treat dogs and presumably other non-feline sentients little better. Obviously it's meant to show the downfall of the old society and a turn-around to a better, more equal society under the rule of Lion-O. I just hope they don't flounder and flop with that and ruin it.

I'd be interested to see how the other non-feline, non-mutant races (the berbils, tuskas, yetis and even humans) will fit into this storyline.

I finally was able to watch the premier after DVR'ing it, and I have to say that it was great overall.

Well, at least we know they won't be cancelling this show any time soon. Kind of cocky though, but I guess they've been reading all the positive reviews here.

The art isnt that bad. Though now we will have both Thundercat series coming out pretty close to each other.

Dread still hasn't reviewed the show yet. I'm disappointed :( .

im glad, dread's reviews take up alot of space, scrolling past them takes a while.

Who is this Dread person and why does it matter what he thinks of the show?

Dread is a poster on here known for his at times ridiculous, at times epicly, length reviews.

If they're reading then read this

UPDATE THE THEME TUNE! AND STICK ON THE FRONT!

New Episode on now!

I also notice that The Thundecats chant will be short as well which is fine by me cause it was long than it should have been in the original.

That's like the third Mobey Dick homage I've seen this week. :funny:

This Mumm-Ra is not ****ing around.

Okay episode - not up to par with the premiere, and it was a pretty standard and by-the-book "hero realizes he is wrong and makes amends" story.

So so episode I'm sorry to say. I get what they're going for, but they were too focused on the Moby Dick parallel to develop the characters well.

Best parts were the opening, the twins, and Mumm-Ra.
