Oh god... please don't let them do this. This sounds like a terrible idea... and probably is.
The 'original' Thundercats was a classic cartoon... very unique. The world of Third Earth gave us a Lord of the Rings style world. So many loactions... all unique, and great villians and heroes to go with the Thundercats.
Now, it looks like we'll be getting some mindless, unoriginal, rubbish.
I'm suprised that a film hasn't been made of the Thundercats yet. It's such a rich world with interesting characters that it could easily work. Or, if they're going to remake the show, then why not stick close to the original, but flesh out the characters more, explore the myths/legends of Third Earth, The ancient spirits of Evil, The sword of omens/eye of thundera etc.
If appearences changed, then fine. I wouldn't expect the look and style to be 100% the same. But this new take sounds uninspring, and unoriginal. Hell, why even call it 'The Thundercats'? This could possibly ruin any chances of a future/possible Feature film.
I know i shouldn't judge anything until we hear more about what's going on... but this was a part of my child hood, and many others childhoods, and i'm worried they're ruin the name thundercats.
BTW, if this is old news, i apologise, as today is the first i've heard/read about it.
