I understood the message but damn was it cheesy. The best part was the last 5 minutes or so.

I almost fast forwarded through the episode, but damn those last 40 seconds were awesome. Less Fern Gully, more Thundercats please.

Lion-O is learning how to be king in every episode.

It's better than just having the good guys fight the bad guys every week for some superficial reason.

I do kind of want to buy a Thundertank with Snarf now, but I don't want to buy the 4" scale figure toys.

The show has slowly been bringing in cues of the classic Thundercats theme song. It was subtle but there in the premiere and it came back again in this episode when Lion-O activated the Sword of Omens. My hope is that at some point it will be brought in full during the show. While I'm disappointed the show doesn't really have an opening to speak of, I do appreciate that the composer is doing throwbacks of the original theme song in the show's musical score.

The Petalars didn't burn so I was a little disappointed with that. Cheetara and Lion-O had a nice little moment by their campfire during the beginning. I like where they are going with this. I like where the writers and Friedle are taking the Lion-O character, where he actually feels like the weight of his race and their future are on his shoulders.

I liked that Slithe sort of had his own troupe of uniquely characterized lizards to boss around. Sort of reminded me of the Snake Men as well as the mutants from the original series except I imagine we will see Monkian, Jackalman, and Vulturman will come in later. We finally got Panthro, the real Panthro entering the fold and now the Thundercats have a boss new ride to explore Thundera with. That should throw the odds back in their favor a little more. It will be interesting to hear about Panthro's stories of what happened away from the kingdom and falling out with Grune as well as how he became versed in technology. Considering Lion-O's interest and existing knowledge of technology I'm hoping this will make for some interesting scenes and dialogue between the two. My expectation is that Lion-O will possibly find a new surrogate father figure in Panthro now that Claudus is gone and Jaga is like some force ghost in an evil lantern.

The Petelars kept me thinking I was watching Plants vs Zombies.

Well I wonder if there will even be a Cat's Lair in this show. They are sort of on the run and in a race to get the Book of Omens. At least they have a vehicle now. I don't think we will see a Cat's Lair for quite a while.

But we did get an homage to the Cat's Lair in the premiere at least.

Oh I was basing it off of episode six being called "Journey to the Cat's Lair" on wiki. On tv.com the sixth episode is called "Journey to the Tower of Omens" so I don't know lol. It would be cool to see a new version of it down the line but this is more a quest type of show tho.

LOL. Panthro was on the Jimmy Fallon show back in June preforming the classic theme song.

LIKE A BOSS. LOL
Hulu deleted the video and I can't find it anywhere sucks.

My thoughts exactly. That's why I love this new series it takes elements from the classic series and adds more depth to it with powerful themes. Each episode Lion-O is learning a valuable lesson in his journey to becoming King as well as a nobel and courageous leader .

This show really hit home with me when it talked about the journey being important.

I've come to realise that there is no such thing as immortality.

In one hundred years there will be no one who will remember or care that I existed.

So I will enjoy my life.

Looks like Cartoon Network or IGN ruined the ending of this weeks episode by giving away the ending with Panthro.

Yeah that's what I thought but the golden stuff had waves and people would swim in it. Strange.

Anyway I'd rank all the 80's reboots like this:

1) Thundercats
2) GI Joe Renegades
3) Transformers Prime

I'm a TF fanboy but TF Prime is a distant third.

I'm a huge TF fan and I gave up on Prime. Extremely boring. Thundercats is the best 80s reboot and best toon on TV with Avengers.

The Cats are still my favorites out of all of the 80s series and they didn't disappoint last night, I loved the emotional tones and how deep the story was and the ending, FREAKING AWESOME!!!:awesome::up:

I can't seem to get into GI Joe Renegades because it seems way too much like it's based off the new A-Team film rather than the classic GI Joe series. Don't get me wrong I happen to enjoy the new A-team film but I was hoping to see the Classic Joe's in this new series.

I've been enjoying Transformers: Prime a great deal more especially as it appears the stage is currently being set for the arrival of Unicron .

wow, what a great episode. The Petalas were awesome and a great vehicle to deliver the lesson to the heroes and the viewers.

The Thunder-chant was great. It had lots of energy but I wish it was a little slower and we got the eye glow. Panthro's introduction was awesome, I just wish we had gotten a little more after his introduction.

I hope now we will get the symbol in the red discs everybody has on their outfits. I vaguely recall an episode from the original series when they lost the symbol and they became weak or something. I hope there is something to tie them all together in a new way in this show.

All I got to say is that im loving this show they have really done of great job if rebooting this story but also keeping it in line with the original..... And that last episode with Panthro showing up to the end in the Thunder Tank... I I totally had a fanboyi moment as I didn't read the spoilers so I had no idea about him showing up and it was an awesome moment!

I personally find the writing a lot better than Prime, but that's just my opinion.

And I love the romantic tension between Cheetara and Lion-O. Just something else to look forward to besides the action and fighting. It always kind of disappoints me the original series never really had any actual romance.

Oh balls, I may have shed a tear at Emeric, and that isn't sarcasm.

I will make your lives miserable if you mock this, too.

This was a much better episode than last week's.

I got misty. Not gonna lie. :o

Lion-O and Tygra need to reach some kind of understanding, though. I don't want to deal with a b****-fest between the two of them at the beginning of every episode.

Real men don't cry. They scream like girls when they see the new Thundertank.

I've thoroughly enjoyed what the show has had to offer so far. Some of it is obviously geared towards children, but there's enough nostalgia to keep me coming back. As long as they keep that I'll be satisfied.
