Maybe you like it even more because of the nay sayers. Stop. Think about it.

Not really. I'm eagerly awaiting Jeff Smith's mini.

why doesn't Billy just give Freddy the powers already? Stop this over the top Alex Ross epic ****, and give it to him.

I'm awaiting Jeff Smiths mini more than anything ever ever.

Fact!

Yep, still love this book. Can't wait.

Jeff Smiths series isn't set in current continuity - it doesn't take place in DC Captain Marvel continuty - it's a retelling of the original serial from the early 1940’s. "Captain Marvel and the Monster Society of Evil" ran from 1943 to 1945 in Captain Marvel Adventures #22 – #46.

For instance as per the original story the Wizard dies as soon as he gives Billy the powers.

It's much more of a back to basis and fun comic series than anything like trying to squeeze Captain Marvel into the DCU. Obviously it won't be for everyone but he's been working on it for two years on and off and if anyone has ever read Bone they know how good Jeff Smith is.

Oh, that makes me a little less interested since it's taken out of continuity. I've never been a big fan of retellings. Thanks though
