The Trunks Thread

I'm surprised that no one has made this thread yet, but anyway, this is the place to post any casting or interpretation suggestions for Trunks, should he appear in any sequels. I haven't come up with one yet

I always thought of all the characters in the DBZ world that Trunks would be the easiest the adapt on the big screen. He wears translatable clothes, his hair isn't nuts, his age doesn't make it hard to find an actor for the role, his story is compelling.

But in all seriousness, we'd need a couple good Dragonball movies before Trunks even came up as a possibility in a screen adaptation.

Yeah, I figured they probably need to adapt at least the Frieza saga before getting to him. From there they could open the next movie with a direct translation of his first appearance on the show, as well as the rest of the android saga. The obvious sequel to that would be the Cell saga, but that's a whole different thread.

Trunks was always my favorite DBZ hero. He had the most depth out of all the characters, and the most dimensions, I felt. Aside from my personal favoritism, I think he'd be easy to translate to the screen, but would also be easier to cast.

I'd like Trunks in a movie but the funny thing is I'd only like to see future Trunks, he was a lot more interest than the normal timeline Trunks for some reason.

Of course, if he appeared in any movie before theAndroid saga, it'd be a stupid move on Wong's part. We have all the time in the world to get the right actor for Trunks.

I guess the reason would be his past, having seen almost everyone he cared for being killed by the androids: introduce the future Trunks, and you get to depict some of that tragic alternate history (in flashbacks or whatever). Introduce the normal-timeline one, and he'll be just another character, not worth of explaining anything particularly interesting about him, beyond his parentage.

Maybe as a spin-off movie but to fit into this franchise, it wouldn't work too well at all.

more like just a spin-off... then again, Wolverine got his own origin movie, so if Dragonball gets that big and keeps going until Z, then there might be a chance that it may happen

Ooh the Trunks speical made into live action? That would be great. They'd have to cast adult Gohan/Bulma/Kid Trunks/Future Trunks. I could see that happing in between the Androids saga if it a big hit.

It should be a spin-off film if it happens in which if it's successful enough we could get a sequel seeing Trunks deal with a villain made specifically for the movie or him dealing with Majin Buu who comes to Earth just as the humans are beginning to repopulate & rebuild the planet.

Oh man, it'll probably never happen, but I would DIE if they made a live adaptation of the Trunks special. I love that movie so much.

This post, and about a dozen others all refer the the 'Android Saga' being made into a feature length film.

Putting it politely - THAT WONT HAPPEN. You guys are forgetting just how much of those episodes where just characters flying around searching for each other, and Goku dieing on a death bed. WOW, great movie plot.

Its way to short of a saga anyways, if the movies carry that far into the series, then its likely the movie involving Cell as the main villian, and will infact begin as this.

Trunks saga opener (just enough to show the future)
Android saga (excluding Gero and 19, the Androids created by other means)
Cell Saga (Goku doesnt get ill OR die, why would he? They dont need plot extenders)

And thats Trunks appearance as an adult in one movie. If they make a movie after that, there will be no more Future Trunks. He doesnt appear again till GT, and they will not be making a GT.

So it would have to be someone who is 18-25 in 2015!
