Comics The Twelve

[Harlekin]

Most of you will remember this story from just before we hit 2000. The lead-up to it spanned more than a decade, but most will agree that the story ultimately left us a little wanting. I didn't know about all the foreshadowing when I first read it, but once I found out, I too was disappointed by the turn of events in it.

So, now comes the question: Who would've been the Twelve if it were up to you? What threat would they have had to face?

The threat? An army of Nimrods, or at least something Sentinel inspired.

Thanks for the link, The Twelve is probably the most "major" X-Event that I know the least about. Is there a TPB that collects all/part of it? I can't seem to find one.

I'm pretty sure there's no TPB of it. TPB only really became popular after 2000.

The Twelve as a team would be damn near unstoppable.

Nimrods and a group of Sentinel would fall very quickly to the sheer power of the group.

IIRC, a time traveler from the furture changed the list so that some of twelve mutants we saw in that storyline where not the real twelve.

Nope.

The Twelve as a team would be damn near unstoppable.

IIRC, a time traveler from the furture changed the list so that some of twelve mutants we saw in that storyline where not the real twelve.

Seeing the trouble Nimrod gave the X-Men, I'm not so sure. Also, we're not sure what really ended up being affected by that time traveller. For all we know, that list was that of the Twelve we ended up with.

I re-read it yesterday, I'm a BIG fan of this crossover. I wouldn't change the twelve roster whatsoever. I liked it

Neat. But for fire, you should add Pyro or Sunfire. Unless you didn't want to add fire?

Nah I wanted to leave fire out because I don't like Sunfire lol. Sunpyre would be good but it's a shame she's dead after like 3 appearances. Was Sunfire even upset when his sister died?

I never got his sisters power. Was it just like his? Becuase I remember an issue where she had went to Jean and the rest of the x-men. And they thought she was an imposter.

She had exactly the same powers but had a better personality. Owell. Anyway I'm suprised nobody put Elixir and Wither in their Twelve.

Yep, Sunfire and Sunpyre were identical in power. I wouldn't necessarily say she had a better personality. I usually dig Sunfire's arrogance.

I liked one of the original ideas, that "The Twelve" were Twelve great mutant leaders that would inspire mutantkind to rise up against a 'threat'.

Course ol Poccy's there as the insidious 'thirteenth' member doing his puppeteering, and for the threat, i really like the idea of the Army of Super-Impossibly-Hardcore-Sentinelly-things being sent back in time Terminator style to destroy all mutants from becoming the dominant species, as well as, dun dunna dun! The Living Monolith who just kind of f***s some s**t up for some reason.
And I figure some other characters can run around and do some dramatic ****, like Gambs, Rogue, Beast, Angel, Lady Deathstrike, Sinister, Sabretooth, Wolvie and umm Polaris and Angel.
Okay, i haven't worked out the bugs. Anyway, there you go.

(P.S. Oh, and Im pretty sure Phoenix and some aliens would be doing something too)

Sticking with my same 12 bit developing a storyline. Ancinet Shi'ar legends spoke about the Twelve, 12 Earth bound warriors able to destroy eternity. These 12 were never listed but there were many clues to the members. Upon hearing of this legend Apocalypse misinteprets it as destroying and thus conquering the world and uses it to gather his 12. In actuality the 12 are the only mutants that when are together can destroy the Phoenix force or unbind her from her vessel aka Jean Grey. These 12 are

Multiple Man

Oh. Well...every team needs 2 telepaths. And one thing I noticed is that everone mostly has Storm and Iceman on their team. Guess they need or still need elemental extremes too.
