The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

$ $ $ everyone here knows that I am a huge fan of the free market and capitalism...I tried reading the books and Meyer isn't that great of a writer...but Summit made this on a random chance and look at it....Wiki has this film budgeted at $68 mil and the estimates from last night alone put it at $65 mil....seriously??

this may be the most profitable franchise, in this era of film, since LOTR....and those cost some serious coin to make (star wars is probably the #1 film franchise ever)

whoever runs Summit is going to buy a platinum jetpack and toilet

Is there a bonus scene after/during the credits?

I saw it with my wife this evening. 7/10, I actually enjoyed it. It's leaps and bounds better than the first two. I thought there were too many intimate kissing scenes though, but what are you to expect from a movie like this. I thought that the action was good throughout though, a much needed addition to the series.

oh man...i had to see it due to a certain girl...
the girls wouldnt shut up the whole movie...cheering "TEAM EDWARD" "TEAM JACOB" every scene where someone got kissed or took their shirt off...and then they screamed stuff like "HAVE SEX!" or "THAT WAS SO REALISTIC" OR "TAYLOR LAUTNERS BODY IS SEXY"
i brought my brother and we laughed the whole time...it was fun..but the movie was...just awful...acting was draggy although Robert Pattinson was great surprisingly...
Taylor Lautners horrificly pitchy voice and dry acting distracted me but not as much as the weird camera angles...super close headshots over and over again (even the girl i took was annoyed by that) and the corny lines...yeesh i dont understand...hope toy story at least stays second this week over that avatar movie or whatever its called...this will do amazing no doubt but i still dont understand the overhype
4.5/10...the others seemed straight to dvd..at least this one had a lil more...story...? i guess...idk...i just enjoyed it more than the junk before...
eclipse was literally a big tug o war with bella in the middle...which at times was such a facepalm

Jasper, Rosaline, and Alice all should be the leads really. I found myself enjoying their characters more than anything dealing with anyone else.

Yes. More Ashley. :woot:

Greene, Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed are really good actors, imo. Out of all the cast, they're the ones with the brightest futures.

The action/thriller side of the movie is, surprisingly, good. The rest, I couldn't give a **** about.

Just got home from seeing this. It was great! There were a few things from the books I missed, but overall I was satisfied. 8/10

And only two more days in the weekend to go.

Definitely better than the last two. The guy who played Riley was really good.

8/10

This was 10x better than the first two films. I wish it had begun here and been able to develop off of this just to get better. Still had some problems but didnt make me hate the franchise like the first two basically did. But any scene that didnt have Bella/Edward in it or have them seperated were much better than scenes that had them together. Their love story is the weakest link. Loved getting Jasper and Rosaline flashbacks and bigger roles. I hope Emmett gets his flashback in the next movie and a bigger role since so far he is the only Cullen to not get that much to do.

Also wore my "And then Buffy staked Edward. The End" just to show my support :)

I'm not a big fan of the Twilight saga. I own both TL & NM on Blu Rizzle & I enjoy them for the most part & accept them as just fantasy, not trying to be anything more. But I ****en loved this third film. The action was awesome, the tension between Eddie 'n' Jake was cool & finally seeing them get along a little was nice. I was upset
that Victoria was kileld off so easy since they made TL & NM seem like she's the ultimate badass
. Loved the backstory stuff with Jasper & that other *****. All round I just loved it & wanted it to keep goin, well after it was over. I'm not a film snob, nor do I feel movies should always hold a deep message. I love movies for the stupidity & fantasy that they are. if I wanted a deep ****en message about real life I'll watch the news. this movie was good for me, plain & simple. Not the best cinema has to offer but it'll do.

This was definitely better to watch than the first two . A lot more entertaining and most of the actors are comfortable in their roles. I thought the best scenes were with Jasper and the interactions between Jacob and Edward . Also the "sex" talk with Bella and her dad was hilarious.

My only and main complaint with the film in general was the ending. The book ending was better, more emotional, and provided a better cliffhanger for what's to come in Breaking Dawn.

I wonder how they're going to do Breaking Dawn? There's hardly any action in it from what I've read so far. And I remember reading they're planning on taking out the sex scenes, the pregnancy, and the birth of Renesmee.

They aren't going to take that stuff out. Tone it down, maybe, but not cut it out altogether. Those things are vital to the plot.

I read that they didn't and don't plan on showing the sex scenes, the pregnancy, and the birth in order to avoid an R rating. Now they could possibly change their minds but I remember reading that and it caused quite a bit of a backlash.

You misread. They don't plan on cutting those things out. But they are trying to figure out how to handle it because Breaking Dawn really polarized the fans.

This movie while better than the first two, still suffers from the same basic problem. Too much monologuing, not enough action, and no real threat to anyone.

I've not read any of the books, but my wife and I have tried to watch the movies to see what all the buzz was about. The first two movies are almost completely unwatchable, so this movie is an improvement, but as I said it still suffers the same basic problem.

There are some intriguing aspects to the movies. The native American werewolves, I thought was a unique and interesting concept, not your standard howl at the moon faire. However I find the vampires to be uncompelling and confusing, to the point where I'm hoping Blade and Whistler show up and do them all in. First off I don't get how Vampires are super strong, super fast, but seemingly break like glass and then can be set ablaze with a bic lighter.

Second of all, you feel no threat durring the movie because Victoria the big bad vampiress has no character developement other than running around biting vamp noobs and then after what seemed a two minute fight scene her head breaks off like a fallen statue.

Finally it's hard to join team Jacob or team Edward when you find both camps uncompelling and right down annoying. One guy looks like a crack addict, the other guy is pretty ripped, but you know he smells bad. Are these two chumps the only options for Bella?

The only guy I could really relate to in any of the movies is Bella's dad. I mean who wouldn't like a guy who likes to throw back a Reineer while cleaning his breach loading shotgun.

I can't deny the phenomena of the movies or the books, but it makes me wonder what passes for good literature now a day.

Twilight 3/10
New Moon 4/10
Eclipse 5.5/10

I have so far been dragged to see al 3 of these films by my girlfriend, i thought the first two were by far not good films, this however i actually quite liked, the director did a good job, the writing for some reason seemed a little better and even Robert Pattison's acting was a lot better and i actually quite liked the character of Edward in this film.
Taylor Lautner is however, not the best actor. the character of Jake in this film came off as the biggest **** ever ! i really didn't like the jake character, and i even found myself internally cheering when he got injured. the fights were pretty cool too.

however the kids in the theater made me want to murder everyone !
