Just a few things on this film:
Positive
Slightly better than New Moon I feel, simply because the character motivations are explained a bit better. I think we can all relate to the character of Jacob (discounting the body of course

) in the sense that I think a lot of guys have been in his situation. You feel someone is pissing their life away, letting someone literally suck of the life out of them. But the girl can't get enough.
Ditto in regards to Edward. When he's talking about how he used to court women I began to realise why this Vampire has such a huge fanbase. I mean, in a world where so many guys are portrayed as being portrayed as only being after one thing, here's a guy who loves his girl, sex isn't even an issue. He fights her every step of the way about becoming a Vampire (even though he could finally have his way with her) because he doesn't want her to throw her life away. He admits to Jacob that he would be better for Bella. So you see, the guy is totally selfless. That's why the women dig him. Not to mention the image of course.
Negative
I still think the plot is weak as hell, it's just the same crap, over and over again.
The threats, after being built up as serious threats, get their asses handed to them in the end. So there's no tension, drama or suspense.
In my humble opinion you can tell David Slade was itching to throw some real violence in but what we got instead was what I like to call neutured violence. Sure there are a few decapitations, but it was literally like decapitating a mannequin: no blood, no gore, no scare. It just came off as awfully lame.
For me, New Moon was a 1/5. This was a 2/5. And apparently, Breaking Dawn is like the worst book in the series, so I can't see this trend of the films slowly improving continuing.
