If there is one thing i'm 100% confident Avengers will have, it's plenty of action. In fact that could turn out to be a bad thing and we end up with a movie like Transformers 3.

That would be great if the action was like Transformers 3.

Avengers is one of the few comic book movies I wouldn't mind being a mindless action flick. All of the characters (well, the ones that matter) have their own movies series for characterization. Just give me a plot that makes sense.

It has to be IMO. Alien invasions? Epic battles? There's no recent movie better than Transformers 3 to emulate an alien race invading a city.

Transformers 3 and Battle Los Angeles.

It really doesn't. It's not about an alien invasion at all.

Yea the action in TF3 was amazing. But everything else was just horrible. I hope Avengers doesn't turn out like that. You need a good story and characterisations to go along with the insane action.

District 9 is about a bunch of people who got stranded on an alien world where the natives were a bunch of aggressive a-holes. Not an invasion.

Oh look, the poster for Star Wars Ep 1 3D with the only guy that mattered. Darth Maul.

Same here, mostly. If it were the first introduction to these guys, like it originally was planned, then I'd be totally pro-story first. But since we've already met basically everyone except really Hawkeye and Black Widow, who are rumored to be having films written anyways.

We already know who Cap, Thor, and Iron Man are. With Hulk, well, his whole character can basically be described as 'Doesn't want to be Hulk but just deals with it the best he can.' Nick Fury? Sam Jackson in an eyepatch, sans swearing (well, maybe. First Class managed to slip one in, sooo). Coulson? He's ****ing Coulson.

What fuels the film is the fact that these people don't get along, yet have to work together. Character friction, which in when applied to a team works like ****ing GOLD. I loved Shinkenger simply because half the team barely got along with each other, but when **** hit the fan they put it aside. Not to mention, even if people haven't seen any of the films, Joss still knows how to handle that kind of thing. Critics loved Serenity, even the ones who hadn't seen the TV show, since he managed to make the characters enjoyable and give a sense of who they are as characters.

All I want is to see these character's personalities bounce off each other, along with good visual effects. Considering Serenity with a budget of about 40 million pulled it off, and this film is at absolute minimum five times that amount, the visuals will very likely be more than good.

So I think it may be a popcorny film, but it can get away with it since introducing most of the main characters isn't really necessary.

I thought Liam Neeson and Ray Park were the only really good parts of that film, IMO. Ray Park was also the only cool part of G.I Joe. Him and Storm Shadow's story and relationship was more interesting than the actual plot. Hell, it was BETTER than the actual plot.

Well yeah, Liam Neeson goes without saying. The final lightsaber battle with all 3 was the only part I could rewatch again. As for G.I Joe, I thought it was worse (in terms of story) than Transformers 2.

What? It was horrendous. It had good action. But literally everything else was... horrendous.

Well I guess Malkovich was pretty funny.

That's all I care about. Again, why do you guys expect good acting and story from these movies? The action was amazing and the 3-D was probably the best for any movie to date.

Real 3D? Bah. Was hoping for IMAX 3-D.

That being said, I doubt I'm going to watch Star Wars in 3-D. I mean, you can only watch the damn movie so many times in so many different formats. Plus, I don't want to deal with all those pseudo-star wars fans who swear that they were alive in 77 when it first came out.

Also I think Marvel should make it a *thing* where the actor playing Bruce Banner is never the same. Poor Hulk was just tacked on at the end. "OH FRICK! No Hulk images! Quick!"

Banner should be played by a different actor in every scene he is in for the first half of the movie

Then in the second half of the movie he's played by the same bunch of actors but in a different order in a selection of wigs

Obi Wan and Yoda are also always amazing

Yoda is like an eccentric crazy uncle except instead of hugging you for too long at Christmas time he beats up Christopher Lee :o

Watching 'The Violent Kind' at the moment this movie is nuts

It starts out like an episode of Sons of Anarchy then there's a demonic posession and now zombie alien satanist thrill killers from the 50's are dancing to drag racing music re-enacting scenes from James Dean movies, making out with each other and using beer bottles 'creatively'

Frick now there is spaceships

Da hell :wow:

Yeah, remember the Fantastic Four movie trailer? It made that movie look like an action-packed fun ride, rather than a poorly paced dramedy that featured one action scene and a half.

;_;

I remember and wish I could forget

At least the Thing was fab

Same. The film was not shot in 3D so, I don't care. I have the film, I can watch it anytime I feel.

Anybody ever see that movie "The Perfect Host" with David Hyde Pierce?

Crazy man. I'll never look at Niles the same way again.

I saw it on Netflix a couple days ago and added it to my queue. It's #209 :csad:

Everybody CONGA! :woot:

I love that film with so much love. David Hyde Pierce is just amazing in it so brilliantly darkly funny

He's like a psychotic Niles Crane
